Today is warm and sunny here on Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Temperature is currently 30 Celsius/86 Fahrenheit. It's the beginning of autumn/fall. ️

Yeah I'm not so sure if it's a good idea. Anyone who reaaly wanted to know where you live could probably figure it out through small small hints in your posts. This is kind of a big hint though, all you have to do is look up that kind of weather on the internet or pull up a weather service map like WeatherBug to find out. I will leave the final desicion up to @Goku_Ironheart.

Invasion of Privacy?

You have to be careful with things like that, it could seem harmless as there can be 100's of each kind but when you couple that information with other things you may have said, it starts to narrow down your location. I'll create a fictional example: I go to a Methodist church near a big city. I live in Texas. We go to the beach all the time because it's not a long drive.Sometimes my Dad and I go and watch the planes come in from the airport by our house. My Dad likes golf just like yours, he plays at the golf course next to the school I go to! I want to be an astronaut when I grow up because when I was young my family went to a Space exhibit and it was great!

If I were to take these into consideration, I would be looking at big cities next to water in Texas which would be Houston. The mention of an airport is perfect as airports are fairly spaced out, then looking for places that could house Space equipment or astronaut gear, enough to make an exhibit which directs me to Space Centre Houston which happens to have Ellington Airport close by. Now to look for the school that has a Golf course behind it, we can see that San Jacinto College fits that exact profile. From 6 seemingly innocent pieces of information, I have narrowed down a decent area down from the whole of Texas.

This is an extreme example but it can happen, which is why in my opinion if the information you are giving others doesn't need to be very specific you shouldn't give specific information. In saying that it is not against any rules to say what type of church you go to, I just would be careful about what type of information you tell other people.

Yeah. You guys are right. I was going to post this last night but I guess I did not hit the reply button.
Like @Goku_Ironheart gave that example of how someone could track you down. Here is one for this. (I don't live here, just an example!)
1. It rained real hard yesterday. (Now if I was a criminal I would look up the weather report for U.S.A. yesterday. Lets say it only rained in 40 states. That narrows it down!)
2. It snowing real hard today! (Lets say it snowed only in 5.)
3. We had a tornado. (Lets say there was one in California and Delaware. That really narrows it down!)

Odd weather where I am. I lost power at one point. -.- In all honesty I think if you just say something along the lines of "Bad weather where I am. Ughhhh" you should be fine, because if someone wanted to find you they'd have to figure out what country, state, town, street, and then the actual address. (They could also wait around the area they thought you were in, so say there was a library nearby, they might wait around there constantly. Or a store. (e.g Walmart) ) That's just my opinion, but it's completely fine to take more caution than I do. ;p

The short answer, it is ok to share weather stories and reports but try to be vague where possible and try not to be too specific with the information.

My answer to this thread, for example, would be;
The Weather is pretty rubbish here, it's cloudy and rainy at times. Wish the sun would come out!

I love snow soooo much but snow means we have to carry wood up our steep hill. But I'm looking forward to spring so much fun stuff to do in spring! !
