I enjoyed that series as well, it just dragged on and on and on. I might get back into it. I vaguely remember the plot so perhaps I would enjoy it again with fresh eyes.

That was... The point. The Capitol was tyrannical, making the districts kill each other to keep order. That's why Katniss and others started helping the rebellion to end the killing, and they succeeded. It's kinda an allegory, I mean with today problems we honestly aren't too far away form becoming Panem...

I only saw a bit of the first movie, cause it just got so violent. I know it was violent. So is Marvel, which I love. But, this was so much more needlessly graphic. Why did they do that? Cause if they didn't, I might be watching it now and not so creeped out by it.

The ending of Mockingjay can be a disappointment to first time readers of the series, especially the teenage audience the book is meant to reach.

I thought it was cute... Maybe a little out of character, but I can understand the sentiment behind it.

The Hunger Games, in my viewpoint, is a literary and genre fusion series with the agenda of enticing readers of science fiction into reading literature. Adapting it to film axes the literary contemplations and makes the contradictory nature of said fusion even more painful to observe.

I knew this when the movies were first coming out, and thus rebelled against the system by forgetting to watch them.
