Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed your three-part post, which, in addition to raising the stakes for the Sheriff and his force, and giving Decker someone to talk to, nicely sets the scene for my next Samson post.

The only reason why he could afford to pay for dinner that day was because he had just gotten his ‘paycheck’ by trading in his prospecting finds, and was blowing it right away. Normally he camps in the desert or just sleeps in the caves he explores.
The mining company won’t buy his bombs because he has a bad reputation as a bum, no license, and is untrustworthy, hence his lack of work.

Edward was looking for a mop, not for the hotel where he stayed, but rather for a theater, the Stillglaive Theater to be precise. It seemed to have rather recently popped up in boomtown as it was not only the best-built building in the town but also the cleanest

Actually, the Stillglaive Theater was built less than two months after Overquil's disappearance, and Westletin showed up not two weeks after the Overquil fiasco's finale.

He might end up helping the bad guys if he thinks it’s to his benefit.
