As much as I wouldn’t normally defend Hans of all people, I don’t think he means to be mean or uncharitable. He’s just trying to get some answers out of SCS in a straightforward manner, and that I am fine with, although—like I think @Julie_Martin was saying—it does make me cringe a bit.
However Hans, like @Sierepica_Fuzzywalker said a long time ago... I doubt SCS is sitting around doing nothing right now.

That wouldn’t make any sense.
You could be nicer. I know you want answers, but being overly-direct to the point of “ouch” won’t help accomplish that, I’ll wager.

It would be nice to have some news of ANY sort, however. It feels like we (gestures to the community) are being misled.

This is an interesting topic, but we probably aren't thinking about how hard it is to program a game that is active 24-7. The programers are probably working on fixing things, but it isn't easy to program something without shuting it down for a short time and they don't want to have to do that.

You don't have to take a game down to reprogram it. They do the changes locally and then upload them to the cloud in a matter of seconds and then people are prompted to download the updates the next time they login. Since they would do the programming locally the game itself would only go down for a few minutes.

I would much rather have a decent game than cool emojis.
I don't think there actually IS a Scarlet City Studios anymore.
I think we're sitting on their ruins...
They're not even running the game anymore.

Well, I mean, that's quite the petition, @Hans_Oddcraft.
Though I mean, maybe you should be clearer on what exactly you're petitioning for. As far as progress reports and more game content--that's something we all want. In or out of petition. :T

Either way, this is nice and all, but I don't see how it adds any more steam to the derelict choo-choo train called Aetherlight-fans that we're all on right now.

We want change too!

I wish I could accurately put into words how much we want and need change. I wish you could know and see the sacrifices that have been made (and are still be made) to have us here today! I wish you could meet the people who gave to build what we have so far!

I’m sorry I’ve been quiet here. Time is tight for me and that will make more sense soon. I’m sorry you feel like the Aetherlight isn’t going anywhere, but it’s ticking slow for me too. I’m sorry, that Episode 4 isn’t out yet, but we are working on fixing big things right now.

Big things like funding, the Aetherlight is cheap to access but expensive to make and run. Staff are in high demand and so much depends on raising money. And money got tight a long time ago. If it helps you gain context, we are all volunteers at this point, still meeting with people to money-people, donors and investors to look into new models of raising all we need.

In terms of progress, there is a book written, it takes place before the game and we can’t wait for you to read it. We hope to kickstart it in the next few months!

That will be the first phase of fund raising to get steam back in these engines. Believe me, I want this as much as you do! We will see Evercity in time.
