Wardrobe Forum Update Frustration

What are the steps leading up to the bug?

When I update my character's outfit in-game, the forum character doesn't update to my current outfit, but one somewhere in the middle of my outfit selection process (which can lead to some strange appearances on the forums). My character then doesn't update to my current outfit until I log in, change something about my outfit quickly, and then log out.

Can you describe what happened?

This has been going on for awhile. I think it started when the Aetherlight moved from two game servers down to one game server. headscratch

What is supposed to happen instead?

The outfit is supposed to update to the outfit my character is currently wearing after about an hour's lag.

No, it happened to me back in ‘17. It has been like this for ages.

I haven't seen this before. I also haven't changed my suit in a while either. It may be because of the new updates that are going on that the game and forums might lag in their connection.

Oh yeah it does that. I have found that’s if you log in and out a couple times it will show up.

If i understand you correctly, I think it's just because it takes awhile for the forums to sinc to your game.
If you log out of the forums, then log back in and refresh your page it works.

The outfit in the top task bar does change to match the outfit that shows on my profile when I log in and out of the forums. However, the outfit in the profile does not change to match the one in-game no matter how many times I log into or out of the game and forum. This is the glitch. Observe:

I imagine that this state would persist indefinitely until I go to the wardrobe again.

I literally have to go to the wardrobe to change something to call the syncing process again, which happens after some arbitrary time spent in the wardrobe, apparently. If I go into the wardrobe multiple times in a gameplay session I have no idea what I will look like on the forums afterwards.

I do remember a time when this was not the case, and I joined the Aetherlight in '17. @Hans_Oddcraft

Hm I can usually log in and out of the forums a couple times and it fixes for me

This refreshes my forum character...but it refreshes...to me wearing the same clock outfit as before. Problem persists.

It's possible that this is a problem with my game or account, then. I'm going to go re-install my game and see if it fixes the problem.

Mine usually updates if I logout, login again and then go to my profile page and then refresh it.

It's a clock outfit that I randomly decided to wear for like 2 seconds and was like "nope".

Oh my gosh, that's actually kinda based. It reminds me of this old comedy where these guys are forced to become fashion designers and all of their clothing is just furniture.

I tried that, and unfortunately that failed as well.

Some of the outfits in the game, like the Tri-goggles and the Phantom Mask, are no doubt references to other works of literature. It wouldn't surprise me if the developers had access to that comedy and decided to make the clock suit in reference to it.

Forwarding problem to @Mech_Lightspark. Thanks to everyone who offered me remedies.

For Mech, please see the first post. Summary: if I spend any longer than a couple minutes in the wardrobe or visit the wardrobe multiple times during a play session, the outfits between the game and forum become mismatched, and the mismatch persists indefinitely until I enter the wardrobe, change something, and leave quickly.
As of this writing, the mismatch I have described has persisted for 4 days. I believe my point is made.

Poll for fun:

I have the bug as described in the first post and summary - my outfits never update if they become mismatched
Logging in and out of the forums refreshes my character and fixes the problem like Creel described
Logging in and out of the forums and reloading my profile page on the forums fixes the problem like Jessie described
My outfits update correctly to my character's current outfit without my intervention.

Mine varies. It's never the same issue.
