Also, I understand that Unknown is looking for the other half of an aether crystal. Would it be located in a place where one can stumble upon it by accident? Or is it too hidden for that? Or am I mistaken and Unknown actually needs something completely different to survive?

In so doing, it rejects my molecular structure and proceeds to literally rip my molecules apart."He sighs, glancing briefly in the mirror at the cracks on his face. "Although Aether has miraculous healing capabilities, it is destroying my body faster than it can heal it. It is simply slowing down the process and prolonging my inevitable demise when the crystal finally tears my body in half and I fade into nonexistence."

The only history both documented or otherwise is Knock's journal which implies that the Great Engineer revealed the algorithm to Knock himself shortly before he disappeared.
The greatest minds in Aethasia have tried and failed to uncover the algorithm which is very unfortunate for me. Due to a series of circumstances, including the fragment of the stone embedded in my forehead, I have devoted my life to Aetherkythera and the uncovering of the Aetherkytherum. I have traveled all over Aethasia collecting every scrap of information concerning Aetherkythera which is all currently kept secure inside Knowhere. In all of my travels and studies, I have yet to uncover any substantial clues concerning the algorithm.
Thanks to Miss Coppernight I have managed to secure Knocks's diary and have locked myself away in my workshop with merely hours left. I am writing a rather long piece now.
