Probably involving the biggest automaton we've ever seen.

Something will go down in Evergreen Meadows, and probably land beyond. We can be fairly certain there will be a battlefield and a Great Engine will be involved. The Empire will ask us to send out a representative to fight their giant. The only person to turn up will be...oh what's his name.

So, about the automaton's bullets...
My theory for that is the autos don't actually fire bullets. Instead, they fire dart-like objects, which can cause pain and swelling if they pierce the skin, but don't cause any permanent damage. That way, you could neutralize people without injuring them so much they couldn't work in the fogworks.

They might also be rubber bullets, so pretty much a stronger version of what you said @Amelia_Lightgear. (Rubber bullets are mostly used by police and other law enforcement during violent protests...sometimes.)

I have thought about this, though I didn't consider rubber bullets. My idea was that the bullets were being fired by gas pressure rather than gunpowder which makes them not as powerful.

My other idea ties into @Spector_Otterquill's comment in that the prolonged use of Aether and Aether-based technology gives Resistors a healing factor above that of a normal, Imperial citizen.

That sounds very possible, maybe that and rubber bullets, but that just seems too weak for the empire.

That sounds possible too, but I try to stay out of the Aether aspect of it, and just stick to things that can be proven in real life.

Gas pressure makes sense from a mechanical point of view. When you have gunpowder, you need cartridges to keep it in. This cartridges take up space, space that there is not. The rest of the automatons are being run off a pneumatic system, making the firearms a part of that system is the simplest way to go.

Yea, and that way you wouldn't have to reload...the gunpowder that is, and there's most likely a better way to do the rest.

Fun fact in the civil war and revolutionary war; the soldiers (On both sides) wouldn't use their ramrods to reload (their intended purpose.) but instead they would just hit their rifle butt on the ground. This was simply to make it faster to reload.

The world of Narnia didn't have a World War ll, it had a completely different history from us. The Last Battle happened before it could get anywhere near steampunk technology.

The Pevensies get into Narnia mostly during WWII, but Narnian time runs separately from Earth time.

Spoilers from The Last Battle

Narnia is completely destroyed in this book (the old Narnia, at least). From the conversations that Eustace and Jill have with Tirian before the end, it's pretty clear that technology hasn't advanced significantly since the time the Pevensies were there (many hundreds of years ago). Tirian was the...seventh (?) great-grandson of Rilian, son of Caspian, and he was the last king of Narnia. There's not really a place for Aethasia's technological advancements, nor its lore, since Narnians had a very detailed record of their own history.

Exactly. Now, I suppose it could be possible that Aethasia was on another land-mass that completely detached from the land of Narnia, but I personally kind of doubt that. Now the woods between the worlds... that's a whole other possibility.

Yea, but at the beginning it starts in England, during WWII, than they escape to Narnia.
