What is Fog Fire? Like, it's real life equivalent. Green fire can be made with copper, which makes sense in a steam-punk universe where copper is used for a ton of stuff. The main place we see fog fire used is in the snowmoors, mainly the grease pits. It can't be put out with water, just like a GREASE fire, perhaps that's why the grease pits exist, is to get fuel for fog fire. So maybe fog is some mixture of grease and copper, maybe some other stuff that doesn't have a real life equivalent?
I googled if it's bad to inhale copper: "Copper is essential for good health. However, exposure to higher doses can be harmful. Long- term exposure to copper dust can irritate your nose, mouth, and eyes, and cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, and diarrhea. ... Intentionally high intakes of copper can cause liver and kidney damage and even death."
I also googled what good it'd do: "Copper is an essential nutrient for the body. Together with iron, it enables the body to form red blood cells. It helps maintain healthy bones, blood vessels, nerves, and immune function, and it contributes to iron absorption. Sufficient copper in the diet may help prevent cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis, too."
This makes a lot of sense, Lucky would think Fog is good, because it helps people bones, and blood vessels, and helps prevent diseases. However on a large scale amount, like being able to see you breathing it in every time you need air, it can irritate your nose, mouth and eyes, which seems like something fog would do, and give you headaches, dizziness (Which is even an effect in the game!) and nausea, which also seems likely for something fog would do. Along with giving people liver and kidney damage.
I tried to look up health problems of inhaling grease, it just brought up that there's small amounts of carbon monoxide when you cook, so I don't see that to be much help. Unless that carbon monoxide is caused by the cooking oils or greases, in that case breathing in carbon monoxide is not a good thing.
But if it's just copper and grease, I don't see why it'd be green on average. Maybe it has a small amount of white phosphorus in it, causing it just to smoke when exposed to oxygen. This would also mean setting a fogfire would be rather simple, and also far more dangerous due to it'd most likely spread through the air. Then again, fog seems to stay low to the ground, and more in clumps and wisps of more concentrated fog. Since it stays low to the ground, it might have carbon monoxide in it, as that also is heavier than air, so it falls. I'd assume carbon monoxide and not other gases because it was stated before with the grease, and also it's one most people know about, and it'd also help with fog being dangerous.
And also not all fires in aethasia are fog fires, we have fire weapons, there's a rather big blaze in bootleg pass, etc.
Also with green fire, I think it also needs Boric acid, which is also "a dangerous poison. Poisoning from this chemical can be acute or chronic. Acute boric acid poisoning usually occurs when someone swallows powdered roach-killing products that contain the chemical."...So that explain the lack of roaches in the grotto. lol though I might just not see them.
I'm not sure, but I feel I've said enough, what do you guys think?
