This is a vote to bring back the removal of the Irving/Homing Balloon/Saving Selina from the Pacifier/Finding and returning the letter for Alexander/Fighting the Bombardier at the entrance to No Man's Landing story line of the Pre-Episode portion. Not trying to be biased against you, but I did not realized it would be removed until now. Kind of wondering about this one because trying out the homing balloons was one of my favorite parts of the intro. Not trying to be a wet blanket and I've taken the new changes well, loving all of them, and I think it's great to keep the game intriguing for all players, just kind of crushed on this one. I still believe that the original story should be kept alive. I know some like it fast paced, but I personally think it's somewhat reasonable. It might seem a bit extended, but I don't think it goes over to the point of ruining the game. I'm fairly certain I can get 8 or 9 out of 10 to agree with me here. @Mech_Lightspark said to bring up things we thought were critical and I am doing so.

Please vote with your heart. Please don't be biased. I know I'm an Aetherlight old-timer and a lot of you are doing the same about concerns you think shouldn't be changed, but this one hits different for me. If you think this is for the better, then I guess I'll have to accept it. If so, hopefully there can be some sort of adjustment in the future so the story makes sense at least.

The heart of the Aetherlight is the Biblical Analogy and this is unacceptable. Axing story! The story is the whole point! The evangelism! The Gospel! The ice cube trays! A whole generation of children will be deprived of cutscenes in favor of RPG Professions that may be found in any other game?!

This is an outrage!

I am joking a little bit and being silly for comic effect, but I think that some folk might actually feel as enraged as this comic portrayal and their voices should be heard. After all, I really enjoyed that opening cutscene as it established my sense of intrigue in wanting to find out who the Great Engineer and the Scarlet Man were. I love story.

They could potentially edit the Irving/Homing Balloon part till later after you've been in No Man's Landing for a while, but the other things such as the Selina fight and the letter would almost have to be during the crash scene.

Joking, but no. Just, no. More gameplay means there is more time to play the game before you have to pay. Also, if you are going to remove that part, then you need to also remove the letter that Alexander needed you to pick up. I mean, I like it there, but I know some like having inventory space.

Not to mention the removal of the biblical nod where Alexander lies to the Pacifier claiming that Selina is the owner of the ship, referencing Abraham lying to Pharaoh and/or Abimelech in Genesis 12/20. Just an Easter egg we love to see.

I think that all parts removed except the bombardier should be re-added. I think it would be too hard for new players with this new system.

I'm afraid I concur with the rest of the community. The biblical analogy and cutscenes made the opening feel a bit bare and rushed. It's a beautiful way to get invested in the story and I think it should be returned.

I think the bombardier fight is unnecessary, that can be removed
And the only point of bringing alexander's letter to him was just so people can be more familiar with the drag and drop system, which is probably unnecessary as well
I would like to keep everything else though
Those are my really quick thoughts, based on the quick refresher I was given.

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that the evergreen meadows is only accessible after episode 2, because I wasn't able to unlock the quest 'Homestead.' That's really annoying cause it was a cool part that was still free. (I think)

I actually got the Homestead quest as part of Episode 1. Though it might have been in the prologue and I just didn’t pick up the quest.
