First and foremost, welcome to the forums!

This is a glitch with certain clothing items in-game. Changing clothes to something different should result in that being fixed.
That is the chat box. clicking on the little chat bubble button will toggle the box on and off.
This is a known glitch that the devs should be working on.

With limited details on your problem, I was guessing at a solution. Is your top quest the golden gear with a key that says you are waiting for Chapter 2?

Hi, I am sorry to hear you are having issues with this quest. I have a question for you. When you spawned into Engine Bay, were you on the top level? And when you fought the Automatons there were three groups? Or less than three? And the final one is When you fought the automaton by the exit boulder, and won, did the boulder blow up?

Ok, so that confirms it. When you click on the golden gear and key, it pulls up a page with a link to "subscribe". In order to move forward to Chapter 2, you have to either follow that link (or go to their main website) and go through the process of subscribing. Once done, the additional chapters will be unlocked for all of your characters.

If you have any other questions on this specifically, since it's not a glitch, jump over to Pt. II, where lots of us asked about the topic of subscribing as the updates were rolled out.

For some reason nobody else has mentioned this one, but it's been true and consistent for every new character my kids and I have made, so using the glitch report format.

Rusty Preacher Glitch:

Glitch Occurrence/Specification: All new characters

Related Glitches: None known
Details: The Rusty Preacher, the first rifle given, causes Radiation damage. Unknown which unreleased weapon it is accidentally linked to. Regular: 30 piercing + 10 radiation at the end of turn (x2 turns). Critical: 45 piercing + 10 radiation at the end of turn (x3 turns). 15 radiation instead for troubleshooters and technomites. (Piercing is confirmed because it does less to pacifiers and more to bombardiers.)
Side Effects/Similar Issues: Actually helps brand new characters with such a powerful weapon, but required to give it up almost immediately in order to progress with the storyline. May be similar to the reported glitch of the first hammer doing ice damage. May cause issues if not fixed by the time we’re given the ability to craft backwards to the initial weapons.

To answer your questions:
1) I spawned into Engine Bay using the map, and it spawned me in the Aetherstep on the top level.
2) When I fought the Automatons there were three groups: one on the top level and two on the bottom level, as I tried to circle in my photo evidence.
3) I am pretty sure that the boulder did not blow up when I won the fight by the boulder.

Really? Awesome! In that case, the weapon description just needs to be updated. And probably ought to update the associated dialogue verbiage to imply you're only borrowing it temporarily from Alexander.

One more glitch to report, which has bothered us for a while, but it's inconsistent.

58% Fight Loading Glitch:

Category: Battle Glitch

Glitch Occurrence/Specification: Occasionally when entering a fight. More common for old characters, especially when joining a fight with new characters. No other correlations have been noticed.

Details: Sometimes when entering a fight, the game freezes at 58% Loading. Always 58%, and if it pauses at any other number it always continues on to open. At first (in December) it would become unresponsive, requiring a hard close and re-opening of the app. It has recently (in January) started giving the attached error message. Re-try does nothing. Logout leads to the 0% logout glitch, requiring a hard close and re-opening. Sometimes I’ve played for hours and never seen the glitch. Other times I’ve had it happen every 5-10 minutes or so.
Side Effects/Similar Issues: Quite annoying when you are trying to play with a team, but one character gets booted and has to log back in before running over to maybe rejoin the fight. Sometimes it is bad enough that we give up trying to play for the day.

Re: the 58% glitch. Sometimes it happens when the battle is already in progress, sometimes not. The one I just screen-shot was not already in progress. It was in NML against one of the wandering patrols.
