“What to do? what to do . . .” I keep on thinking about that question as I keep on sprinting through the business district. Nothing major, unless your running away from a hot head who stops at nothing from getting what he wants, trained to catch and disable his targets, relentless and stepping in between him and what he puts his heart into. Why is he chasing me? A person we both care about has been gone for a really long time, he is blaming me for her absence, and the last straw came when he saw the snow out here, and we are both uncertain if she will survive. He found me in the business district. Don’t tell me how, he just did, he has his ways . . . very brutal ways of finding things out. I see automatons, and I try to get those things between me and him to slow him down, but he keeps on knocking their heads off with ether his gauntlets or flame canes, leaving me little time to get away. I use my grappling hook to get to the roof tops, sliding on the icy surface and dodging obstacles. But he keeps gaining on me. “Need to be unpredictable” I think to myself, but how? I see a nearby building, and think of an idea.
I change my claw gauntlets back to regular temperature, grab ahold of my grappling hook, aimed for the building at my level and fire, but I don’t wheel myself in. I leave more and more slack as I get closer to it from the left side of us as we are running on the roof tops. As I get to the edge of roof, I jump at the last second well turning around, seeing he has jumped after me, his flame claws reaching out towards my face in a very intermediating way, I point my grappling gun to my left side, focusing the cable from the gun to appear in front of him, and I fire my claw gauntlet to the open space, hoping my move works, and it does. The cable thrusted to his collarbone, along his front and under his armpit, the force of my equipment involved in my escape from this hot head and hot heart sends him backwards while still in the air with a sudden burst of acceleration away from his intended target, I look away from him to watch where I’m landing and being sure in a way to not land on my head. I perform a backflip and landed on my feet with my knees bent to avoid hard impact on myself and my remaining claw gauntlet on the ground to maintain more balance, I look up straight after finding my claw gauntlet flying away with my grappling hook still gripped on, and lost sight of Black Phoenix.
I activate my magnets which remains of the launched my claw gauntlet around half of my forearm to come back along with the grappling gun. When it reaches to me and comes back in its place, I wheel myself up to the gripped point, undo it and when I drop to the ground I start to run, hoping I get off these streets and he is not already on my lead. I rush to Thelma’s Soup Shop I helped set up a long time ago, bursted my way in and quickly closed the door behind me, leaned against the door and slid to the ground, hoping to gain more time in catching my breath and to figure out in what to do to get him to stop and calm down. I look in front of me and I see familiar faces, and an old friend.
