I like him. I grin in a fashion that conveys both understanding and Tom-foolery, “Hmm we may indeed have buisness together in the future. At the moment I am a little preoccupied but I would be interested in discussing this further at another time and place. Would you be interested in that?”
Mayyyyybe… but I got a lot o' customers, and nowhere to host them. You know a place I could set up shop? Maybe that empty spot next door? We could bust out a wall, make it an expansion of your lil' place here.
Monitor starts beeping
Huh... okay. Dashes off to the Pastry Shop
Bursts through the door, crashing into someone at the counter
Hyde. . . ? Is that you?
I rub my mask absent-mindedly in concern for the structure of the building, “I have a friend who can assess the nature of the building. You live within the vicinity of the Landing?”All of a sudden I am bowled over by someone who runs in the door at top speed.
Hyde grins, patting the girl on the back
AVA! Man, you run fast.
I get up, “I’m fine, thanks for asking. As I was saying we could have my friend come take a look but he won’t be here before tomorrow.”
Hyde crosses his arms, fingering the red bandana tied to his right bicep
I can wait, ya mind if I hang?
I watch as Karma notices the weird looks people give autofficers. Don’t let it get to your head, girl. “Hey Badcop. Wanna make me a cool code name, like yours?” It got to her head. “I dunno. I’m not the best at code names. Actually I got mine from a couple other officers back across the mountains.” I thought for a minute before asking “What did you have in mind?” @Julie_Martin
I consider the whole moving thing with someone around who is suspicious and might have unpleasant connections and we would have to tip toe around him the entire time... “I’ll be right back.”
Hyde nods, finding himself a seat where he can watch all the exits and entrances.
(Highly impossible but ok) (also change of tense)After I double checked that Emman had sealed off the tunnel and the cart with the urchin was off, I breathed a sigh of relief. “Yes, we are prepared to accommodate you, Mr.____,” I replied to our guest with Gustav beside me.
(Sorry bout that Missy... I'm web-jumping a lot)
Edward flashes an award-wining devious grin, giving a slight bow.
Name's Hyde... Edward Hyde.
(Lol don’t apologize! I was just giving you a heads up that I was changing.)I smile with half of my face, “The pleasure is all mine. Follow me. I want to show you something.”
Hyde tilts his head in curiosity, and follows. He feels a slight sir at the back of his mind.
Be CAREFUL Hyde...
The troublemaker rolls his eyes, continueing to follow the girl.
I WILL Doc... she's a Resister, no danger there.
I spied a random nervous twitch from Hyde, I chuckled in my mind. We walked to the back of the shop and I opened a hidden cupboard and took out an old book with a lock on it. The lock was a little rusty but I finally got my key to turn. I blew the dust off...and sneezed, “Please excuse me.” I opened to a certain page that I thought would catch Hyde’s interest.~The Ancient Coffees of the Giant Seed Forest~Was leafed in gold at the top. Pretty calligraphy detailed the instructions that would produce some of the best coffee in the world. “Some of these recipes came from the original settlers of Aethasia. That’s why we are so careful.” I side glanced at Hyde, “But I felt as though I must show you this for some reason.”
I slipped out of the urchins grotto and tiptoed down the street. “Careful Rainy. We aren’t a wantin’ Ta git captured and more people hurt.” I said to myself. Ever since I had lost my parents that fateful day a year ago to nasty autofficers I had taken to the habit of talking to myself. Mr. Badcop was teaching me to shoot a pistol, but I wasn’t very good yet and he didn’t trust me to carry my own gun. “It’s probably because I’m small.” I said to myself. I walked into the pretty shop we went to often in hope of petting the cat. “Hmm some new people here.”
Waldo stretches out to greet his friend with a lazy meowl. His big, golden, unblinking eyes seemed to try to tell her something.
Hyde's eyes were gleaming, he took mental pictures of the recipes and brewing advices. His uncanny memory would never let him forget the pages. He grinned, looking back up a the girl.
"Just the piece of cake I was looking for!"
“Glad I could help.” I closed the book and put it away.
Meanwhile Thelma was in a regular fit getting everything ready at the pits. “I want that there! No wait over here!” Falcon and Mirth’s patience was for sure tested that day. Finally all they needed was Karma and Badcops load. “Tsk, where are those kids? I’ll have to bake some cookies to keep myself occupied. Tell me when they’re hear!” And the a jump and a hobble Thelma was busy in the kitchen.@Badcop_Blackshine @Julie_Martin
I 'hrmed' a bit to myself before replying.
"Oh! What about Scythe? Or Jimanji?"
I glanced up ahead, acknowledging we were almost there, and sharing the information with Badcop.
