I am leaving the Aetherlight forums.
This has been said before, and I'd hate to start another argument but I want to share my thoughts one last time.
There is nothing particularly wrong with the Aetherlight Forums. Nor is there any problem with the game itself. If I'm honest, some of the users on the forums are causing problems. I'm not blaming anyone for anything, trust me. I'm just pointing out that we need to be aware of how we're affecting those around us.
Recently everyone has been saying that the forums are different because so many of the "OG" users have left to pursue their dreams and live a prosperous life. People have also been saying that there are a lot of new users on the game and forums, and it's changing everything.
The site is going to change over the years. It's inevitable. Think about any social media app, movie, really anything. Instagram isn't the same as it was even just 3/4 years ago. Star Wars is nothing like it was in 1977, over the years things have changed drastically. I know that it's different for the forums, but my point is that change is bound to happen.
I think that the fact that some of us have been around since 2016 or '17 is getting to our heads. We are no better than a kid who just made an account three days ago. Sure, we know more about the game, we might be older than them, but that does not mean you can treat others differently.
I'll admit it, I've gotten annoyed with some new users when they don't seem to "respect" us older kids. But that is the dumbest thing I could ever think. Like really? What is wrong with me.
I think that the forums are "depressing", "immature", "not what they were before" because we're making it like this. If we switch our attitudes things will be so much better. Instead of mourning over the friends we've lost, get excited that there are so many new Christians like you on the forums to talk to. Instead of getting annoyed when someone asks for help, feel honored that they've included you in their journey. This is sounding really cheesy and dumb as I'm reading it out loud, but I hope that some of you will read this and maybe realize what I'm trying to say.
Sincerely Rachel Blackruin
I'll miss everyone, you all have really been a big part of my life, and I'm sad to leave but, the times are changing.
