No, this is not a topic about tunnel-boring machines making use of swords to burrow into the earth.
This is a topic about the Bible.
For those of you who don’t know, sword drills are basically where someone says a location in the Bible (for example, John 3:16), then the other participants race to find the location in the Bible.
Once someone has found the location, they have to read the verse aloud as fast as they can, before anyone else has the chance to (in this case, John 3:16 reads: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.).
The first person to find and say the location and verse wins, then gets to pick the next location for everyone else to find (for example, Proverbs 4:23).
This topic is exactly that. A fun way to pass the time and strengthen our knowledge of the Scriptures.
Who knows, maybe we’ll even have some meaningful Biblical discussions if one of us doesn’t understand the verse or it’s definition.
Now, there will have to be some differences, considering this game will be played over the internet, and not in-person, in the same room.
For one, we won’t all have the same version of the Bible, so you will have to say the location, verse, and which version of the Bible you are using (I’ll be using the Aetherlight Bible, myself).
Second, there should be no disputes as to who finished first, since the Aetherlight forums make use of time stamps to determine who posted what when, and as such, this is a much more streamlined, struggle-free process.
Third, you can use physical Bibles or digital bibles, or whatever you may have at your disposal. You could even use Google to search for the verse if you wanted to.
Fourth, there will be no prizes. As I said, this is just for fun, and to strengthen our knowledge of the Scriptures.
Fifth, anyone can participate, and you can come and go as you’d like.
I look forward to sparring with you all.
To start us off, here’s the first location for you to find:
Exodus 14:14
Good luck, have fun,
