I'm creating this thread for posting information that could be added to the Aetherlight Wiki. (Attn: @Stonefleck_Follyfoam) To keep it condensed, please ask questions elsewhere, such as on one of the "NOT Talk All You Want" Threads, or another thread as appropriate. However, I don't have all the answers, so please add to this if you see something I didn't know or didn't record.

Weapons

What the chart columns mean:

• min level to use (not to craft)
• regular hit / critical hit, and the range of damage if applicable
• type of damage (ex: Bludgeoning, Piercing, Fire)
• *3 means 3 hits, which are ALL affected by enemy armor
• debuff status you do to your target(s)
• defend status you do to yourself (or team)
• how many rounds those statuses last (one less if your teammate attacks after you)
• summary of when and where it can be found

Dreamweaver Locations

There are some one-time items to get, and some recurring boxes.

Dreamweaver One-Time Items

The recurring boxes might show up, they might not, and only a couple times per day. And when they do, there are a few locations they might show up, so you have to check all of them. I'm positive that I have not found every single location, but I've been trying to grab screenshots when I do.

Of the items that might be in a box:
- common raw items: cog, pipe, spring, screw, lens, glass vial, magnet, plasma globe
- common crafted items: gyrostabiliser, accelerating apparatus, compass, animus servo
- uncommon crafted items: clockwork furnace, vapor condenser, aether boiler, super charger

I've never seen them give:
- solvent, tin can, cloth, horn, ice flower, snow cone, snow globe, dynamite, reticulated spline, gearbox, radio beacon, telescope, telephone, chromic acid, poison detector

• Coded Message in Evergreen Meadows (using dreamweaver)

• Rainbow Alpaca Hat in Evergreen Meadows (using Shearing Crook), but can only be reached by swimming, and that takes the Diving Suit and Helmet you can only get by reaching L7 without a profession. Watch for possible updates in future game releases.

• See the previous scavenger hunts note for 4 other outfits

• Gear Sword is essentially a scavenger hunt, too, since it requires a raid party to get a key from the boss guarding the treasure chest with the crafting plans, and then time (searching boxes and fighting enemy groups) to get the crafting materials. Unfortunately, right now the reward in the Fogstone Depths and the Fogstone Cavern is the same.

Boxes and Barrels

One of the December 2021 updates was the addition of boxes and barrels that might have free loot in them.

Locations to check the boxes and barrels

Not in all map locations yet, and the locations with common items (ex: No Man's Landing) might give items multiple times per day, but in the locations with rare items (ex: Northern Slurries) you might have to check all the barrels and still only get 1-2 items per day. Blue text for the rarer materials.

Enemies

This is another massive topic that can be sorted in a variety of ways. In a true walkthrough guide, they would be introduced chronologically (which also includes location) with a couple of combat tips, then a sorted table with additional information in the appendix.

Initial Notes

• The info on enemies assumes knowledge basics regarding combat, weapons, and conditions (see above).
• Many combat effects changed during the last big update:
  -- Originally, "armor" and "agility" set minimums (had to use rifles or hammers) and maximums (had to use canes, pistols, or wrist weapons) in order to hit, but it didn't affect the actual damage dealt.
  -- Now the maximums and minimums are gone (except in some obsolete text descriptions).
  -- Agility (a hidden stat) increases the ability to outright dodge an attack (ex: Technomites).
  -- Armor reduces the incoming damage (ex: 30 attack - 10 armor = 20 damage), to include negating extra effects if the damage is reduced to zero.
  -- Resistances (shown in red) and Vulnerabilities (shown in green) were added, which are damage multipliers either increasing or decreasing the amount of damage taken for a specific damage type. There are a few rare Immunities (ex: fire or ice damage is reduced to 0).
  -- Radiation damage R&Vs are still mostly unknown because the only source is the starting rifle (rusty preacher) that you are required to get rid of almost immediately.
  -- Cut damage R&Vs still has a few unknowns because the gear sword is the only source so far, and it can't get past the thickest of armors. And unfortunately, it's also nerfed with most enemies very resistant (1/4) to cut damage.

Condition Notes Missed or Expanded

• Rage (ex: Goats) = increases for every attack that lands, and for every point of rage deals extra damage when attacking. So hitting with a hammer increases rage by 1. Hitting with a cane increases rage by 3-4.
  -- Deal with Rage by using single strong attacks, or else beat the enemy before it has a chance to attack (ex: charged attacks).
  -- Note that debuffs that don't deal damage but set up the next attack (oil spitter, oil can, water can) don't increase rage.

• Revenge (ex: some goats, and snapjaw later) = 3-turn chained ability where they 1) activate revenge (during an attack on their turn), 2) detect an attack (your turn), 3) decide whether to get revenge (their turn, like a charged attack), 4) do a massive revenge attack on their next turn.
  -- Deal with Revenge by making a decision when it is activated in step 1: either do not attack that enemy during step 2 (revenge will de-activate), or commit to beating that enemy in the next 2 turns. And since step 1 usually covers all enemies, it's about selecting which enemy you will finish in 2 turns and ONLY hitting that one.
  -- Explanation: Attacking an enemy during step 2 means it will NOT attack during step 3, giving you one more turn to finish it before its massive attack in step 4. Don't cut it too close, though...if it dodges, you might be finished.
  -- Just like with Rage, another option to "not attack" is to use a non-damaging item.

Because you are limited to 5 weapons, it's important to plan for the specific enemies you are fighting, plus the number of allies you are fighting with.

• The important Protective Conditions (so far) are wet which reduces fire damage and prevents you from becoming oily, and burning which greatly reduces cold damage.
  -- It's why Water Rifle and later the Fire Stick are staple items for one member on your team that is dependable at getting critical hits (defends the whole team).
  -- Stabilized from gyroscopic hammer is also useful, on its own when using the sniper rifle, and as protection against enemies that cause the dizzy condition
  -- Shielded from umbrella cane was more useful before the update, but shielded seems to work differently / less now, and is only worth it against the Excavator's or Mega Drill's charged attack.
  -- Just remember that if you are focusing on protection, have that person go LAST so that the protection will last an extra turn for the other party members.

• The important Stacking Conditions (so far) are oily + fire and wet + shocked + electric and wet + cold
  -- When oily, all fire damage is doubled (x2), but be careful to use fire weapons that don't apply "burning" or it will "use up" the oil. So dynamite, fire pistols, and rocket hammer are good...flame hammer and flamethrower are bad.
  -- Electric damage is doubled (x2) when already shocked, and increased by half (x1.5) when wet, but they stack so when wet AND shocked electric damage is tripled (x3).
  -- Water usually lasts for 2 turns already, although a crit with water rifle applies it to all enemies, so one party member who is dependable with crits can use it every other turn. For shocked, tesla gauntlet is guaranteed to hit all enemies, but a crit with tesla hammer is the only thing that currently applies shocked for more than just one turn, and only to the targeted enemy (if applicable, the other two are shocked for one turn).
  -- Cold damage is doubled (x2) when wet. However, this always "uses up" the wet condition, so you can to keep switching back and forth. For a solo player, water rifle + cold hammer is a dangerous combination. Unfortunately, this strategy was mostly nerfed by giving almost all enemies a slight resistance (3/4) to cold damage.

The reason I covered those conditions in more detail here in the Enemies section, and why I'm mentioning this note outside the hidden roll-ups, is because the new resistances and vulnerabilities are important for the hard fights. The order of calculations is [original damage], subtract [armor], apply [resistance/vulnerability multiplier], then apply [condition multiplier] if applicable.

Enemies Part 2 (Resistances & Vulnerabilities)

Since this is a hidden stat, I could only get this by research - lots of attacking, recording results, and doing math. If you fight something early on (storyline or quest) before that damage type is accessible, I don't have that info yet, to include a couple of the glitched enemies.

4-Reward Spinners

FYI: There are special 4-Spinner Rewards from combat.
- It's supposed to be for amazing feats of combat, defeating enemies quickly and taking very little damage.
- In reality, it's not linked to any specific metrics, and more a combination of selecting the right secretly pre-determined weapons (which might include a weapon the enemy is resistant to) plus random chance (enemy attacks and dodging).
