I mean, Xonos is right to an extent. If people aren't taught how to debate, and you place them in a debate situation, and they don't want to learn how, the personal attacks inevitably come.
I mean, when I subjected the situation with my abusive old man to a debate, nobody obviously taught him how to respond and consider things logically. The response to my debate was a boatload of personal attacks, and you have to go through the personal attacks and weather the storm until they finally respond in accordance with Biblical truth. The Holy Spirit will get to them eventually, but it takes awhile.
I'm not saying those who want to shut down debates here are as bad as that, though. I don't think Lil would approve of what he did. What I am saying is this: that's my background on the subject. Maybe that background is a blindness, but I tend to doubt that it is.
The thing is, I would be just as happy to leave those adverse to debate up to God. I can't solve everyone's problems and fight everyone's spiritual wars. The problem is, we have people on here who do want to debate with me and those people are in the right, and they are being attacked. God's side is always the minority, again. So I guess it's time to deal with the heart of the issue.
However, there is one more thing I can apologize for: I made an arrogant presumption when the empath issue had first started becoming a thing that I had already taught the people on this forum how to debate. I had written a post explaining it and had shown many examples of myself doing it correctly, and I thought that was enough to not have a problem like this occur. I apologize for this, for I should have known far better. While I consider that they may have been adverse students, I do consider myself, to a degree, responsible for their suffering. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done now but to weather the storm of my own stupidity.
May Xonos be able to laugh at this post instead of cry.
