Idk, right now I see two violent narratives fighting each other - the left narrative and the right narrative, and neither narrative seems to have the full truth, if any. I don’t know what is actually happening or what is true in politics are the moment. The truth seems to be missing and concealed from our view.

What scared me was this: even though I don’t encourage violence, this sets a bad precedent on social media, one of fear that if you don’t toe the line, you’ll lose all of your friends and contacts and traffic. As someone who was planning to make money on social media - if they can ban the President, they can ban anyone, even me, for things that I didn’t even do. All it takes is a bunch of stupid people misinterpreting my art and doing violence in my name for me to get in trouble.

What happened to Parler I found to be even creepier, as a web designer. Makes me want to buy my own server - the thought that I can’t even trust a web hosting company in the case of a political dispute is unnerving. Ugh.

This would be a good time to remember that history repeats itself, once as a tragedy and again as a farce. I'm seeing more and more repeated history every day. In the case of Parler, this isn't the first time that a company thought it was too big to fail. In the American Industrial Age, companies turned to trusts that monopolized such things as railroad, oil, sugar, and other key resources. They got so big and so ruthless that the American government passed acts that would prevent large companies from taking down rival start-ups.

I think we'll have another such incident again, just a little more fun to watch.

It's also worth noting that most of the DC rioters made most of their plans on Facebook, not Parler.

One thing I should like to bring to the United States is the speeding ticket system of Finland. When a person speeds, the fine is calculated based on their income. It's the same percentage all around, but the rich are just as deterred from speeding as the poor.

I should also like to implement Baltimore's blue street lights nationwide. It reduced violence and just looks lovely.

I have my ways. And guess what? If the MW does raise, my hours will.be cut! And you know what's more likely? I'll be out of a job! And cost of living will go up! You know why? I am currently getting paid $7.25 an hour. I have co-workers that get paid the same. My boss has adjusted his prices so he can make a profit and pay us. When the MW goes up, he is going to raise prices. He's going to cut hours and fire many people, because teenagers obviously aren't going to do a good a job as adults. So there goes entry level jobs. And guess what? Someone who buys from that store rents out apartments or houses. They have to start spending more on groceries. They are going to have to raise the price of their tennents, and it keeps going on and on. It's the domino effect.

Not everyone in the country gets paid as much as pilots, college tech support, grocery cashiers, and fast food workers for example. K works in fast food and she uses a large portion of her money to maintain her car. There's very little left over for her, especially once the government gets at it.

They want to keep their voter base while simultaneously being popular in Washington DC. There are no term limits for Congress seats which means they can keep their power until they die as long as people keep voting for them. Many people in the government, including Joe Biden, have been in power for several decades. If they really wanted to help America, they would have done it years ago. Career politics is an extremely cushy job. All you have to do is keep up with what issues seem to be trending and party with big donors. Pander to the right people, and you could be in power for a very long time.

That makes sense, I guess.

Since tips make up a good percent of income for people in the restaurant industry, this was a problem. The salary raise had come with cut hours. People who knew about the salary raise were far less likely to tip. The result was less money for the waiters and waitresses.

When someone takes a job, they have the ability to bargain for their wages. Many people don't know this, but it is there. If, after you have taken the job, you think you are not getting paid enough for your labor, you can go to your boss and negotiate. You tell your employer that you think your labor is worth more than you are getting and you both try your best to come to a satisfactory conclusion. If your boss is being pig-headed, you can get several of your friends and negotiate together.

What they minimum wage raise proponents are basically trying to do is butt in to the bargain. They think they could have negotiated better than the people involved and demand that the government force the employer to pay a certain amount, perhaps far more than the employee is worth. A dish washer is not worth eleven dollars an hour. They are, all things considered, a dish washer.
