Wow. Today, my dad and I were going to work. It snowed a bit before we left. We were traveling on a main road when all of a sudden, we hit a stretch of ice. The back end of my dad's truck, which is really light, slipped to the right while the front end went to the left. He turned the wheel to the right, but this time the back went to the left. We went back and forth one more time before we stopped. (I was facing the traffic.)
Thankfully, the only two cars behind us reacted quick enough and were able to stop. My dad was amazed that not one car was coming toward us from the left lane. (That's where we ended up stopping.) Both of us would have been seriously injured or killed if there was a car. (Everyone had a tough time stopping on the ice. The speed limit was 60.)
There are two things that I think are funny about this. The first is that my dad was deciding whether to lock in the hubcaps. He decided against it. The other thing is that a few hours before I was thinking about life and what I might do in the near future.
It just goes to say that God had His hands on my life and my dad's. I like to think to myself that God has a bigger plan for us and that's why we weren't harmed. (And we'll always remember to lock in the hubcaps from now on. )
Just thought that was a cool testimony.
