This has nothing to do with politics. A political division is an area that has been divided up for reasons of administration. It is different from a geographic division which would be something like βthe east coast.β Countries, states, provinces, counties, shires, cities, towns, and zip codes all count as political divisions. If you have 50 million or more people in your country you can say you live their. If you have 50 million or more people in your province, you can say it. If you have 50 million or more people in your city you can say it.
