Hey, just so you know, ice reduces inflammation, heat relaxes muscles. If the area feels at all uncomfortable with the application of heat, donāt use itāit could make it swell up really badly.
Also, an easy way to check if itās a break vs. a sprain is to relax your foot and move it around, press on it, etc. with your hand. If you feel pain, it might be broken. If you donāt feel pain, try moving your foot around by itself (using your foot and leg muscles). If that is when you feel the pain, itās most likely only a sprain and not a break.
If you only feel the pain when youāre putting weight on it, Iām not sure, but in the past when thatās happened to me, it was because of an internal bruise and/or ligament inflammation and/or muscle soreness. Not because it was ever broken.
I have super loose ankles and I have done some crazy stuff to them throughout gymnastics and dance so trust me I know alllllll about it
Just know that even if itās broken, you might be back on your feet sooner! A doctor told me once upn the occasion of a bad ankle sprain that it was a pity I HADNāT broken it because it would have healed faster.
Praying for you!
