Think about it this way: the car in question was probably tailgating an oven truck, and the oven rolled off and hit the car from above. It was a vertical collision rather than a horizontal one.
This is evidenced from where the oven is in the image - on top of the engine block -as well as the fact that the oven is not damaged. If the car and the oven truck were traveling at the same speed, only the energy from the drop due to gravity matters. All the oven would have to do is survive the fall intact, which it could, probably.
I think the joke is that the guy whose car got wrecked by said oven actually wanted one, so instead of dealing with the wreck in a logical way, he’s towing his wrecked car with his new oven around and stripping his old car for parts to get money for a new car.
