Pirate101 Information Below:

In this post, I will be explaining the difference between all Classes. Since this is on the forums, I will upload attachments and quote a few things from the Pirate101 Central wiki.

Let's start with my favorite Class, Swashbuckler.

Class Trainer: Morgan Lafitte.

Swashbucklers rely on speed and finesse in combat, sneaking up on their foes and striking by surprise, then dodging the enemy's attacks when they finally arrive. They are deadly with a blade, but not nearly as tough as a Buccaneer, sacrificing toughness for higher damage.

Just like their cunning raccoon trainer, Swashbucklers are quick on their feet and skilled with a blade. After training for the Dance of Steel power, Swashbucklers can attack every enemy around them at the same time in a whirling blur of blades. They can also hide from the enemy until they are ready to unleash their fury.

Swashbucklers start the game with Pirate Daggers, the Power Sneak Attack, and Subodai (Horse Barbarian). They use the Agility stat for weapon power boost, and have few ranged attacks.

Now for the Buccaneers!

Class Trainer: Mordekai.

Buccaneers are sturdy warriors who rely on brute strength to overcome their enemies. They wear the heaviest armor and carry the biggest weapons - spears, axes and double-handed swords. What Buccaneers lack in grace or finesse they make up for with raw courage. Withstanding enemy attacks is the key to a Buccaneer's strategy, and their relentless damage will wear those enemies down.

As a Buccaneer, your Pirate is strong and tough! The Buccaneer's signature Talent Turn the Tide, makes them more dangerous as the battle wears on.

Buccaneers start the game with a Battleworn Spear, the Power Mighty Charge, and Kobe Yojimbo (Bull Ronin). Buccaneers use Strength as their main weapon power boost stat, and train to use Big Choppy Weapons.

Now for the Privateers!

Class Trainer: The Commodore.

Privateers are born leaders, commanders who lead their troops to victory through the most desperate of battles, even if they do not personally engage the enemy. Privateers can recruit more Companions than any other class as they progress through the game, and their Powers focus on boosting their team's capabilities, plus using both melee and ranged attacks.

It's good to be friends with a Privateer Pirate because their specialty is supporting and healing their allies & Companions. They can even go so far as to heal the entire team with the powers they receive through training.

Privateers start the game with an Unlucky Buckler, the Power Gunnery, and Egg Shen (Goose Student). Privateers use Will as their main weapon power boost stat, and they can train to use Staffy Weapons and wear Heavy Armor.

Now for the Musketeers!

Class Trainer: Ol' Fisheye.

Musketeers are expert marksmen who use their mastery of firearms and trick shots to win battles. Musketeers damage their enemies at long range and keep them at a distance with traps and obstacles, denying foes any chance for hand-to-hand combat.

The Musketeer Pirate is a tricky one! Specializing in creating traps and obstacles to slow down enemies, you can snipe them from a safe distance, or drop bombs to make the Battleboard even more dangerous. The Musketeer's iconic power is the Rain of Mortarshells which blankets an area with explosive traps!

Musketeers start the game with an Archaic Sparquebus, the Power Grape Shot, and Wing Chun (Crane Student). Musketeers use Agility as their main weapon power boost stat.

Now for the Witchdoctors. (NOTE BY ME: I REALLY don't suggest this one. The Bible itself says not to practice witchcraft or sorcery, since it's almost like worshiping other gods. Well, it is. Choose this at your own risk, but I HIGHLY suggest not to.)

Class Trainer: Madame Vadima.

Witchdoctors are masters of the arcane, using the powers of Hoodoo to influence the outcome of combat. While weak in a direct hand-to-hand fight, Witchdoctors never fight fair - hexes that weaken foes, blasts of fire that strike at long range, and summoned spirit allies all turn the odds in a Witchdoctor's favor.

Witchdoctors master Hoodoo and many dark arts. Through their training they can learn the Mournsong power which summons spirits to drain the health of enemies from the opposite side of the Battleboard. Summoned minions obey their Will and swarm the enemy team. Witchdoctors can even Charm their enemies

Witchdoctors start the game with a Feathered Staff, the Power Ghostwail, and Kan Po (Goat Student). They use Will as their main weapon power boost, and specialize in using Staffy Weapons. They cannot wear Heavy Armor.

Let's see... I know for sure that I don't want to be a Buccaneer (not my style) or Witchdoctor (unbiblical)... I think I might want to be a Musketeer, but I'm not totally sure... Maybe a Privateer? But then I can't fight bad guys directly. That's boring... I like the Swashbuckler, but I don't like working with knives and swords and things. Too bloody. (Besides, I have "blades" of my own. )

That's not true. Actually, Privateers are both melee and ranged, meaning they can both shoot and do hand-to-hand combat.

I like the Swashbuckler, but I don't like working with knives and swords and things. Too bloody.
