I am wondering, why does everyone's "personal info" need to be hidden or not posted? I mean, I'm perfectly fine with people knowing my personal info, which is why I will occasionally post it. It makes sense if you are posting someone ELSE's info that it would get taken down, but why not let people say their own info?

Basically child safety laws. The Aetherlight could get sued if a child's information was revealed to the point where someone looking in could do them harm. The demographic of this game is 8-12, which is considered too young to make decisions for themselves on the internet. Kinda the same reason YouTube was going through the age drama stuff.

What @Lilliana_Umbrellascope is right on. To go off what she's saying, we don't want to let older members take over sharing information and have younger's see it and think it's okay. It wouldn't be quite fair to exclude certain ages. Regardless, we technically have no idea what the ages are of anyone here on the forums.

Better to keep everyone safe than sorry.

We aren't allowed to mention discord as you must be 13+ to use that service, and it allows unmoderated conversations, which is another safety issue the Aetherlight could get sued other

Unfortunately, posting links to most chat sites, personal social media accounts, and other things of that nature are also against guidelines due to safety concerns. We do allow chess.com and other sites like that only for the reason of chats being monitored by the staff on those type of sites.

That is a problem, but I was thinking if there's an official discord server, then all the forums mods could get mod roles on the server, and possibly some of us citizens could be appointed discord mods as well. (I could be online for 6+ hours a day if needed, for example).
However, the 13+ is a problem. If you ever need a server though, I can build one.
