Clears throat Ahem. Attention, please!
I, @Danyul_Braziervest am running for December Member’s President. On my campaign poster, I have three values that I want to promote in the forums. Community, Stability, and Wonder.
Community is very important. We are a family here, even more so since most are Christian. We have Resistors from the very beginning and we need to welcome our new friends. Love conquers all. But… sometimes families have strife.
I promise a pleasant Community! I once had a solution for strife in my topic called the Braziervest’s Bench. I would bring it back with a renewed purpose by creating a new topic called the “Reconciliation Bench”. If there is an argument between two or more Resistors, the president would mediate between the Resistors at the Bench and resolve the argument there. Community moderators would participate in the reconciliation as well. Only the Resistors directly involved, the President, and Community Moderators would be allowed on the topic. After the argument is resolved, we would leave the Bench until the next strife comes. Reconciliation Bench aims to isolate strife on the forums.
Stability is necessary. Change is rampant right now in-game. It’s exciting and good! However, we need to build a stable boat to ride this new wave of change to the shore of Episode 4.
I promise enduring stability! By highlighting ideas for the organization of glitches, professions, and more, we can be more effective in how we share information. We need well-communicated standards. The best place to create these standards is through the Aethasian Court. We need to bring this back to regular cycles. I propose a new election of judges by the end of December and renew the three terms of judicial elections. The judges could take a more active role in reminding members what current rules are and how the rules apply.
Wonder is vital. We get to discover new aspects of the game! Meet new friends! Wonder does wonders for us as a whole. When we are in awe, we become part of something bigger than ourselves. When we wonder, we are more selfless, more creative, more reasoning, and more virtuous. I want to inspire us to cultivate wonder on the forums!
I promise thriving wonderment! Wonder can be gained individually as you discover new things. As a group, we can share wonder easily in-game. I propose “Wonder Walks”! I would schedule times that I am in-game so that people can play aka Wonder Walk with me. I would promote others to plan weekly times that they are in-game as well so others can join them too in their Wonder Walk! While on a Wonder Walk try to find one new thing that you never saw before, and screenshot or share it on the new Wonder Walk topic. Also, the Aethasian Times already documents wonders surrounding Aetherlight. We need more attention to this wonderful newspaper, especially now. I would encourage more participation in both the creation of new issues of Aethasian Times, as well as the reading of new issues of Aethasian Times.
If you elect me as your president, these concrete ideas are what I would bring: Reconciliation Bench, a revamped Aethasian Court, and Wonder Walks. Thank you for reading!
