You probably have something going on with the Windows Update program on your computer. To start with, you need to get your parents to run the Disk Cleanup Program on your computer, and have them hit the “Cleanup System Files” button. Make sure that the Windows Update file thing is checked and hit ok. This should also make your computer run faster because it has less junk files bogging it down.
(I know you said that you weren’t techy, but I’m posting this for everyone else who might be having the same problem. Also I couldn’t resist.)
After you’ve done that, the next step is to find the Windows Update program on your computer and check for any errors it has in installing updates. That’s probably what’s eating it - updates not getting installed. You’ll need to Google the errors and fix them. I suggest talking to your parents about this if you’re stuck.
