Three months after the retreat of the Winged to Darktan.
"I think we need to go back to Mountain Peak" Cody said, during one of the monthly meetings
"Are you crazy?" Another Winged said.
"Of course not!" Cody replied.
"Cody," Vytanni said, "We cannot go back, the empire knows that place exists, and it's no longer safe for us."
""But... But..." Cody said desperately, "It's our home."
Vytanni spoke up again, "I cannot risk the lives of my people in this way, I'm sorry Cody."
Cody nodded, he didn't like the answer, but he knew she was right... Even if she didn't know what she had just told him to do.
That night, at midnight, Cody was going home... Well, he hadn't left yet, and that was due to a pair of winged standing guard outside his room. apparently, Vytanni had read it. This, however, didn't stop Cody, He needed to go home, though he didn't know why it was so necessary.
Cody turned the doorknob, and opened the door, only to find that the two winged there were not guard's at all.
"Cody, We believe in you. Get to the exit, Otis is waiting."
Cody nodded. "Thanks."
When Cody exited the building, he found that the Winged's words were true, and Otis was ready to fly.
"Come on," Cody said, "Time to go home."
Otis was sitting comfortably between Cody's wings as he flew as fast as he could back to his home.
"I think resting here would be opportune." Otis said.
Cody Complied and landed on a stable branch, near the top of a maple tree.
"Crossing the ocean was a taking journey, I think we both deserve a rest.
After a minute or two of resting, Cody again took off, still flying in the direction off home, but as he got closer, he felt something. Now, Telekinetics were very rare Winged, and Cody was not one of them, but, all Winged had the ability to sense other Winged, at least from a short distance away.
"Otis, I feel something," Cody said, "Another winged is nearby."
Otis looked at Cody. "Then not a moment to lose, find the winged."
Cody followed where his sense was leading him... But it was leading him very close to No Man's Landing. due to this, he had to pull away from the ground. That didn't matter much though, his eagle eyes could still see the ground just fine.
Otis who had his head on a swivel this entire time spoke up. "Look, over there."
Cody looked to were Otis had meant, but instead of finding another winged, like he had hoped, it was a thick cloud of fog. "That? You think that is what we're looking for?"
"What does your feeling tell you?"
Cody felt within himself. "That's the place."
As the duo flew closer, and farther away from no man's landing, they could descend, slightly.
"Otis, you hover here, I'm going down to see who's inside that cloud of fog."
Otis complied and Cody tucked in his wings, and dived toward the cloud of fog, as he got closer, he opened his wings again, and started hovering. Cody beat his wings hard, and the heavy wind began to blow the fog away.
But instead of finding a Winged, stuck inside some kind of new fog trap, he saw a young girl, no more then eighteen, laying there, alone.
