I think it's because a few unnamed individuals have been poking at the privacy rules and even outright breaking them so the mods wanted to take action to prevent this from continuing.

Because I'm a role model, and if I mess up, we don't want anyone to think they can do the same thing. So I think it's like me being an example for other people so they don't go and try to break the rules too.

Just to reiterate in case anyone is confused:

Caleb wasn't demoted because he's a role model and we wanted to keep him in check for the people that looked up to him. He was demoted for breaking the rule. We aren't making an example of him. He's only being penalized the standard time we have set. (That being two weeks.)

You can't deny that the time penalties enlarge as the offenses are significantly worse. Two weeks is the standard time for fairly tame offenses, but if an E3 situation happens, a two week punishment doesn't exactly fit the crime.

I'm not disputing the idea of having different set times for different crimes, merely pointing out that the system is in effect and posting my theories, based on past forum events, of what those times are.

Usually forum crime and punishment is subject to being highly arbitrary, so it interests me to note that a standard system is being employed.

How To Make Your Posts Count

Make sure you are adding to the conversation.

See how unproductive that is? Saying one word or short phrases doesn’t make for a fun conversation. In those instances, likes are a great option!

Here’s what a productive conversation might look like:

See the difference? Now both chatters get to add in more thoughts and open new opportunities for others.

Hey, it’s something we all do, even me sometimes! How can we cut down on this? Take a little time between finishing writing and posting, making sure you have all your thoughts. Now, if you simply must add something you forgot, put SFTDP (Sorry For The Double Post), just to be nice : D

This has been gone over a lot, so I’ll make it short. Basically, if the post is right above you, you don’t need one, unless picking something specific out from a long post. Tagging the member/s you are speaking to can usually work just fine!

Making Topics

An important factor is that we don’t clog up the forums with useless/duplicate topics. If you want to make a topic, I would first suggest looking up keywords and see if we already have one. After that, I would still recommend going to this topic:

Here you can suggest topics and get feedback. Someone might already know about a similar - exact topic and be able to point you to it. Some topics are too niche and small, so you might find out you can squish it into an existing topic.
