Hello Forummers! This post will be spreading information about Forum Rules and Etiquette.

Guidelines
Hidden words
Hiding your conversations is prohibited as it is attempting to hide information from the mods.
NARPs
Non Aetherlight Role-Plays are restricted. The Aetherlight Forums is solely dedicated to the Aetherlight itself.
Media guidelines
If you plan on including pictures, please make sure you are following these guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone.
Voice
Voice reveals are not allowed as they can reveal a lot of private information. Voice sharing directly on the forums is not allowed, but links to content including voice are acceptable.
Violent Role-Play
This forum is geared to 8-12 year olds. Because of that, we need to keep our forum appropriate for them, even in our role-plays.
Privacy with Goku
Sharing Usernames to Other Sites
No Link Rule
Double Accounts always labeled unless the original account is revealed and deactivated
Our forum is a lovely place, but it can get a little spammy every now and then. Here are some guides on how to combat it!
How To Make Your Posts Count
Make sure you are adding to the conversation.
Hereās an example of what not to do.
Hank: I really liked the latest episode of Rhinoman!
Ralph: Same
See how unproductive that is? Saying one word or short phrases doesnāt make for a fun conversation. In those instances, likes are a great option!
Hereās what a productive conversation might look like:
Hank: I really liked the latest episode of Rhinoman!
Ralph: Me too! It was so funny that Rhinoman squashed BugBoy. What was that joke at the beginning about tho? It was weird
See the difference? Now both chatters get to add in more thoughts and open new opportunities for others.
Donāt use your posts to create strife. Use them to spread aether!
Double Posts
Hey, itās something we all do, even me sometimes! How can we cut down on this? Take a little time between finishing writing and posting, making sure you have all your thoughts. Now, if you simply must add something you forgot, put SFTDP (Sorry For The Double Post), just to be nice : D
Quoting
This has been gone over a lot, so Iāll make it short. Basically, if the post is right above you, you donāt need one, unless picking something specific out from a long post. Tagging the member/s you are speaking to can usually work just fine!
If you would like to read more in depth, our former Community Moderator Peregrine made an excellent post on this subject.
Making Topics
An important factor is that we donāt clog up the forums with useless/duplicate topics. If you want to make a topic, I would first suggest looking up keywords and see if we already have one. After that, I would still recommend going to this topic:
Here you can suggest topics and get feedback. Someone might already know about a similar - exact topic and be able to point you to it. Some topics are too niche and small, so you might find out you can squish it into an existing topic.
Here is a template to suggest your topic!
I was thinking of making a āinsert topic name hereā topic! Describe the topic, give reasons why it is needed, ect,. here
Do you think this would be a good topic?
- Yes!
- No!
- We already have this topic!

On the same note, instead of making full topics about Quests, Glitches and such, check out these topics!
Staying on the Correct Topic
Sometimes you start talking on one topic, and before you know it, you are on a completely different topic than the one you started on. Take for instance,
On the Star Wars Topic
Hank: I just watched Star Wars for the first time!!
Ralph: Dude thatās so cool! My favorite episode is The Empire Strikes Back. Whatās yours? Oh! Have you seen those new Star Wars skins on Minecraft?
Hank: Iāve only seen A New Hope, but I liked it a lot! And yeah, I have. Pretty sweet!
Ralph: Thatās a good one too. Anyway, I was playing the other day and trails into story completely unrelated to Star Wars
Oh no, what is Hank to do?! Itās simple. Just quote Ralphās story and Hank can post his reaction on the correct topic. Now they can continue their conversation without spamming the Star Wars channel with off-topic content.
But what if you see a whole conversation happening on the wrong topic? Hey, thatās a great segway intoā¦
Using the Memberās Union
See any of these mishaps in action? Quote the posts involved and bring them here. My friend Ariella, who created this topic, made a very nice tutorial on how to use this topic.
The Memberās Union is a vital instrument in making the forums cleaner. Donāt be afraid to use it! And if you are the person being corrected, thatās okay! The MUās purpose isnāt to publicly shame forummers for messing up, itās to help each other with etiquette. Everyone can learn
Closing Thoughts
If youāve made it to the end, hereās a gold star!
If you have questions, please donāt be afraid to ask, about anything!. If you have an idea- share it! We love your input. It helps us create a better community. Just remember to be nice and pleasant to everyone, treat others how you want to be treated.
