I think it's because a few unnamed individuals have been poking at the privacy rules and even outright breaking them so the mods wanted to take action to prevent this from continuing.

Because I'm a role model, and if I mess up, we don't want anyone to think they can do the same thing. So I think it's like me being an example for other people so they don't go and try to break the rules too.

Just to reiterate in case anyone is confused:

Caleb wasn't demoted because he's a role model and we wanted to keep him in check for the people that looked up to him. He was demoted for breaking the rule. We aren't making an example of him. He's only being penalized the standard time we have set. (That being two weeks.)

You can't deny that the time penalties enlarge as the offenses are significantly worse. Two weeks is the standard time for fairly tame offenses, but if an E3 situation happens, a two week punishment doesn't exactly fit the crime.

I'm not disputing the idea of having different set times for different crimes, merely pointing out that the system is in effect and posting my theories, based on past forum events, of what those times are.

Usually forum crime and punishment is subject to being highly arbitrary, so it interests me to note that a standard system is being employed.
