One of the many popular uses of the Aetherlight Forums is to participate in the mock political-system. Each month, two members of the community are chosen as a vice-president and president of the forum members. They exercise little power, but it is a whole lot of fun to run in the elections and vote! Remember to fulfill your civic duty as a forumer each month and vote for the candidate of your choice!
There are several political parties that candidates can run with, as well as one independent slot on the ballot. I would highly suggest checking one of them out and joining! You are not required to join a party to vote, or even run. Here are the parties and a brief description of each.
The Aethasian Guild:
Founded by Xonos Darkgrate, initially as a think-tank for improving the organization of the forums, this party stands for meaningful discussion and safety for users on the forums. Guild candidates â[promote] truth, creativity, and communityâ in forum activities.
It is presided-over by council members Hanna Brassheart, Ariella Newheart, and Levi Orangeburst.
The Aethasians of Aethasia:
Initially founded by Jacoby Elderfun1 in May, 2017. The AOA stands for truth and integrity as the core values of the Forums. They realize how much the Forums means to its members and believes itâs candidates should recognize the rich history and legacy of the many great members who have shaped the community.
The partyâs council consists of Jacoby Elderfun1, Creel Lenslook, and Beckendorf Direscope.
The Kid President Party:
Founded by Rogecog Anglepinner (Nautilus Lightblast) in June, 2017. KPP candidates strive to make the forums a more welcoming and fun place. Council-member Lilliana Umbrellascope says, âWhen users come here, we want to make them feel welcome, let them know that they have friends here.â The council consists of Veteran members Spector Otterquil, Pig Larkscape, and slightly newer member, Lilliana Umbrellascope.
