@Hans_Oddcraft Is it possible to organize a debate between Presidential candidates before the Dec. 1st election? I know it's short notice, but I think it would be good to have one at a set time with questions given to us by you or other impartial moderators.

Organization: Now that I think about it, I think just replying to each other on the debate topic is enough.

Downhill: I think we shouldn't be afraid to debate. We need to test our ideas in a safe arena. If it goes downhill, our moderators can jump in and ban a topic from being discussed anymore. I know what happened with Law and Order, but if we can set good precedents and eventually put debate guidelines in place, we can debate without fear of tearing each other apart publicly.

Two of the other candidates are running on anti-debate platforms, however, so encouraging them to debate you could be seen as attempting to undermine their positions directly. This could lead to a fight instead of a debate.

I was president for one month: May.

Dathmaul was president for half of June, then he resigned and no one else became president since then.

If no one wants to debate, then fine. I know I am coming off as aggressive, but I just really am passionate and energetic about this. Apologies if I stepped on anyone's toes, it was unintended.

If it looks like I want control, it's because I love this community, and I want to see good things happen that will benefit all of us, the OG and the new ones. The Golden Age is going to happen soon, I just want to see us ready for it!

(Also, I am NOT this decisive in real life around my friends, I usually fade into the background )

Debate is still a contentious, emotional topic here yonderabouts. Perhaps, in time, the emotions around it may fade, but like: too soon. I mean, I just got banned for a pro-debate stance back in September, and it's barely been 4 months.

Granted, though, a debate between presidential candidates is probably more civilized than Law and Order. But tension could still run high because if someone feels that they are losing the debate or they didn't want to debate and then lost the election as a result, that could result in some sore feelings.

Thank you for correcting my bad memory. I think the point still kinda stands though.

I dig this attitude.

Yes, that is the irony that I pointed out before. Whenever people try to shut down a debate, they usually end up starting one or making the existing debate even more intense because now we have something else to debate over. It just adds fuel to the debate flames.

Therefore, I have decided to enjoy that particular phenomenon instead of feeling threatened by it as I may have in previous times. I love debates. Anyone else want some popcorn?
