How do I run for President?

In the first ten days of the month I (@Hans_Oddcraft) make a poll in the Members President topic that asks which party you wish to run for. Vote on the party of your choice and I will put you in that party's monthly ballot. The winner of this ballot moves on to the Presidential Ballots. The winner of the Presidential Ballot will becomes President.

Which parties are there?

There are four parties: the Aethasians of Aethasia Party, founded by @Jacoby_Elderfun1; the Aethasian's Guild Party, founded by @Xonos_Darkgrate1; the Kid President Party, founded by @Roguecog_Anglepinner; and the Independent Party, which is Independent.

How do I know if I am eligible to run for President?

If you are a Basic or a Member you can run and if you haven't been on the Presidential ballot in the past three months.

How do I know who is President?

Go to the Aethasian Members President News topic and scroll to the most recent post.

How do I know who has been President in the past?

Go to the Post of Fame topic.

I've heard some things about a forums president, but I'm not really sure when it comes to the actual rules, hehe.
You can change parties, right?
If a party is founded by someone, are you voting for that person by supporting their party?

You can vote on the Party Ballots on the party topics. You can vote for the President on the Presidential Ballots topic.

Every month you can run for a different party if you wanted to. After the party ballot is made you are stuck with that party for the rest of the month.

If a party is founded by someone, are you voting for that person by supporting their party?

There is much debate on this issue. Personally, I am advocating for the President to get more power.

At the moment the party stands for whatever the current person running for it stands for. Next time I am president I will fix this though. So, #VoteHans.

The President doesn't get moderator powers, but they can change aspects of the governmental system and certain other things such as the Grammar Police.

There are many topics that people around here love that serve no purpose whatsoever to that cause. I made the Members President system as a organized alternative to all the craziness of the forums. The Members President is still related to the Aetherlight.

I wasn't around for the beginning of The Grammar Police. Probably before it, but not during, so I wouldn't know. I guess a president could be worthwhile if there were more of an apparent point to the idea. That said, this topic is not for debating the forum president, and role-plays have no other point than the enjoyment of the people.

Oh, you mean the Court ballots.
Well, the judges are very specific people we have picked for their honesty and care for the community to represent us in court and when a new law is put forward we want the people who vote on it to really mean it. We can't just have anyone throwing a careless vote at the ballot without thinking about it. That is why only judges can vote on Court ballots unless otherwise specified.
