Gotquestions.org also say this & it is also what I was taught from the churches I've attended & I do believe that is what the Superbook ministry Gospel video is saying, & it is what I believe, but nobody ever used the words specifically "penal atonement" you have to remember that not everybody has the same vocabulary even though they're still explaining the same gospel message as you it could be because of a different language or maybe some people don't have a high level of vocabulary like that to
Have you watched their video? Can you please watch the video & share your opinion, because I personally believe they are Cleary explaining the gospel.
Also will point out that yes I do agree with your previous post on incorrect theories and I guess you were right that I shouldn't have said that just the Salvation poem from superbook is the complete gospel but Jesus did die upon the cross and rose again to save the lost and we do need him to forgive our sins and to be our savior Lord and friend.
"Penal Substitution Theory: This theory sees the atonement of Christ as being a vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice that satisfied the demands of God’s justice upon sin. With His sacrifice, Christ paid the penalty of man’s sin, bringing forgiveness, imputing righteousness, and reconciling man to God. Those who hold this view believe that every aspect of man—his mind, will, and emotions—have been corrupted by sin and that man is totally depraved and spiritually dead. This view holds that Christ’s death paid the penalty for sin and that through faith man can accept Christ’s substitution as payment for sin. This view of the atonement aligns most accurately with Scripture in its view of sin, the nature of man, and the results of the death of Christ on the cross."
