I honestly have never used the phrase, and probably never will. I do agree that it really is a form of the more common phrase "Oh My G--", but when a person uses it solely because they are purposely trying to avoid the OMG Phrase. That changes things, doesn't it? Maybe they didn't know that Oh My Gosh was like Oh My G--, so in order to honor God's name, they purposely refrained from the phrase. Also, it's a habit for all of us. I let OMG, (not the letters. the actual phrase), slip out a few times too. I'm sure most of us have. It is probably the sneakiest word in our vocabulary, society thinks that it's just a harmless word to express surprise or anger, but really it's just as bad as the things you hear on TV and R-rated movies. So, let's just give @Ilayne_Merespark a benefit of a doubt, and I'm sure this whole scenario will help all of us refrain ffrom these few phrases.
