I don't believe that, no - no plates were screwed into brains as a result of this debate. At least, I hope not. It's not a plate - more like an orchestra that's designed to teach you things and then put you in situations where that ability is needed.
For example, God used a terrible conflict with my parents to teach me web design and is now using that ability for my college literary magazine, heh. This serves as a witness to the other writers and the professors in that class. (It also applies to my forum debate skills or lack thereof.)
What I meant by the statement was that I was afraid that God would not let me use my skills and abilities, not that God wouldn't actually use them. (He has! I was wrong, praise the Lord!) And in general, I was wrong about that because God loves people.
And I'm not a Calvinist either, as per these posts:
Alright, I misinterpreted your post. I'll have to go up and try again, but it won't be tonight. I'm out of steam and Aether.
It might be awhile though - my intuition is telling me that this debate may be endless since I don't think anyone is going to change their position as a result of the evidence presented. Don't get me wrong - it's a fascinating topic to argue about, but I kinda like my debates to be productive and this one I'm starting to feel isn't going to be. I might need more time to think about it.
