Viper was wrong, But she had sound logic at least. The main floor was empty, every room was dark, and to Rook's great dismay, no automatons were nearby the entrance of the building to take with them as they entered.
They walked through the hallway checking every door, until they finally reach the end. A singular locked door was there, and with closer inspection, the pair could tell that the voices were emanating from beyond.
"The Boss said that we should wait here!"
"Yeah! Well what about the rumor that a pair of Imperial Major Generals were hunting down all of the syndicates."
"They're just rumors, and anyway, it's the two Major Generals that are usually in No Man's Landing, It's not like they can do anything to stop us anyway."
Rook heard enough of this, he kicked the door, breaking it's handle, and entered pistol ready, Viper did the same, however, as they entered the room, Viper froze. Rook looked back at his partner, shaking his head.
if she was done with this, I could use some help, he thought to himself.
However, he had a syndicate to deal with. Rook fired a few shots. Most connecting with their targets. The remainder ran off, but Rook was able to grab the one who he could only assume is the leader before he made it out of the secondary exit.
Then Viper snapped out of whatever kept her frozen, she looked around the room, finally ending with Rook and his captive. Then she exploded in some kind of blind rage...
