That sounds as if it would work. I can easily imagine a class of humble, meek, nature-loving folk that hunt, fish, and farm among the trees of the Great Seed Forest. They live quiet lives as you suggest, minding their own business and looking after their families and neighbors. They neither know nor care for the snobbish ideals of progressive city dwellers. They accept others hospitably and celebrate the passage of time and changing seasons. Perhaps, in these modest folk, there remains some of those who still worship the Great Engineer with simple sincerity.
Now I'm imagining the Shire or even Rivendell in the treetops and I love it.
It could be a lovely thing not often seen in video games. The Leasties would understand that the best things in life are free and thank the Great Engineer for their blessings.
Begins to sing a song for the Leasties
Though sword shall be rusted
And throne and crown perish
With strength that men trusted
And wealth that they cherish
Here grass is still growing
And leaves are yet swinging
The white water flowing
And Leasties are singing
Come, tralalaloo
Come back to the wood
The stars are far brighter
Than gems without measure
The moon is far whiter
Than silver in treasure
The fire is more shining
On hearth in the gloaming
Than gold won by mining
So why go a-roaming
Oh, tralalaloo
Come back to the wood
Oh, where are you going
So late in returning
The river is flowing
The stars are all burning
Oh, wither so laden
So sad and so dreary
Here, young man and maiden
Now welcome the weary
With tralalaloo
Come back to the wood
Tralalaloo
Falalaloo
Fala
If more valued home, family, and friends above glory or gold; it would be a merrier world.
