Well, good responses everyone. Look, even if you agree or disagree with someone's opinion, it's good to voice that - at least in my country we have freedom of speech lol.
I agree with some of the posts above that paying a subscription that's 10 dollars or more is no really fair for a small game such as Aetherlight. For something like World of Warcraft it's more reasonable, as the game is huge. But the only reason I'd fork out 7-10 bucks a month for this game is because I'd want to support the devs. For 120 dollars a year I could buy a bunch of much bigger games such as Fallout or No Man's Sky - and multiple of those to boot. Since those games are unfortunately way, way beyond the scope of anything Aetherlight will ever be (sorry to be realistic, but it's true) I strongly question a subscription method that would cost this much.
Plus, the game isn't that long, and for 10 dollars I could easily beat the whole game in one month (I've been playing games for decades now). That means instead of getting more money you'll get way less because people will just cancel their subscription. Plus, no offense, but I'm not sure the new devs can create content that is as biblically sound and gameplay that is solid enough as the previous developers.
If people just want to hang out in the game, that's very cool, but is that enough to support the game on without bloating the price? I think not.
The thing the game needs is more players. Sure, it'd be hard, but if you get an online voice, spread the word, I bet you guys can do it. Trust me, there have been some great titles in the past that haven't been discovered and so get overlooked. It's harder with a Christian game to get people to play it, but I think it's still possible. Organize a player group at your church. Tell people at game events. Post on social media. Someone had the idea of having a Kickstarter, and that's exactly what I was thinking as well! Some games would never have made it if it wasn't for Kickstarter!
On another note, does anyone know what will happen to previous Episodes when this new model is added to the game? I'm sorry, but I'm not buying the rest of the episodes if I lose access to them once the new season releases.
