Don’t worry, Levi, I promise you there will be no automatic subscription sign-ups. You’ll actually get a “free trial” if you’ve purchased episodes for them, but unlike a free trial, there won’t be a risk of accidentally subscribing. So don’t worry about that!
Not so much new ownership as new organization.
Tim Cleary is still involved with The Aetherlight, by the way.
I understand. You would have had to have been active and closely watching for several years to have caught the subtle clues to it.
As I said to Levi, it’s not as much a new company as it is The Aetherlight becoming its own company. So instead of The Aetherlight being a product made by SCS, The Aetherlight is now wholly independent. There may be some new staff (Mech was one of them, I am almost completely certain, as well as Coop), but it’s still being shepherded by the same people who brought it into being.
@Iliara_Mustardtop has captured the situation perfectly.
@Draven_Eldercraft, I’m going to be completely honest with you, because while I don’t know you that well, I’m relatively certain you will be able to handle it.
Frankly, I am upset. There are a few things going on that you’re not aware of that make this quite awkward. I have been pursuing @Mech_Lightspark’s contact persistently all of July, because there is a very serious issue with security that he needs to know about so it can be mended in time. And to learn that you have it, and have been communicating with him? Well, I feel betrayed.
I don’t know what you’re trying to do, though... and of course I would like to know. But suffice it to say, let us Community Moderators do our job when it’s ours to do—there’s a reason we have it.
I’ve been a moderator here loyally and actively for longer than your Aetherlight character has been alive, I’m pretty sure. And to hear this? I don’t really know how to deal with it. The deep amount of frustration and concern I have undergone lately, I have tried to suppress, giving Mech the benefit of the doubt always. But I’m having a hard time now, so at least pray for me, please.
