I wouldn't say that it defeats the purpose of banning clickable links. . . See, I think that our friends at the Studio planned it so that it's more work to get to the links, if that makes any sense. So, a kiddo couldn't say, 'I accidentally clicked the link and it took me to a bad place'. In order to get to the website, you'd have to actually copy and paste or even manually enter the link, and then, at that point, it would no longer be the Studio's fault. So they couldn't be held responsible for the link. (I think.)
