Sorry, I didn't think that name would cause a problem. No worries though - I guess I'm just too fast and too weird for everyone.

The system might have thought I was bragging or bullying. facepalms I was referring to the idea of adventures and epic quests, not like I was superior or something. I guess I probably deserve the nick. Maybe just plain Sierra would be better.

So the very first time I read it, I read it as two names, Siere Pica and figured it was just a misspelled name, correct spelling being Sierra, so decided to not let it through.

Now, since it came up again even now, it still looks and even sounds like two names to me.

Google search is showing me nothing for it as "Sierepica" but when I put a space just before Pica it is suggesting maybe I meant "Sierra Pica" which sort of solidifies my initial line of thought being it could be two names but just misspelled.

It just comes down to could it possibly be a full name? If yes, don't let it through as we don't have time to ask every single person who has a questionable name what it means.

There also have genuinely been people who put their full names as their character name so I don't even take the slightest risk.

That is from the moderation side, for the forums post I decided just to remove it from that post because I can't be 100% sure that isn't her name or even part of it. Does that make sense? haha, hopefully it does.

Name moderation isn't an automated process, I actually do that too.

It's a pretty loose process but if I read through names and it sounds off/bad it won't be moderated also if it sounds like it is someones first and last names or two names together it won't be moderated either.

WOW. I had no idea that was going on. It was never meant to be two names, and it is not my first or last name. It’s a portmanteau of Sierra, which I associated with adventure, and epica, after epic quest. I was inspired by the new adventure of the Aetherlight, and had no idea what was going on, or that moderation rule was even a thing.

What an epic failure. For me, to be clear.

Named after

Sierra was an old pen pal of mine. It's a very strange story - we were camping in (#personalINFOREMOVED) with each other, played Uno and Jenga and exchanged addresses. I've always associated that name with adventure and new places, and so Sieriepica - a fusion of the name with the association.

This is where talking with me to get additional clarification would have saved everyone much confusion and weirdness. (Can you guys email me?)

I forgive you though.

For anyone I missed, I plan to leave them the way they are until these players asks that their name is moderated in this post. That way inactive accounts don't have to be bothered with!
