Hello everyone!
Iām just here to let you know about a new policy we are going to start and why.
The double account rules we made have been a success. There has been an uptick in double usage for creative role plays, and less double spamming and secrecy drama. I am so happy that this has been working out! And I hope you all agree that this was a good change for the forums.
But, we (the Community Moderators) now see that we were unclear on one part of the double guidelines, and that has enabled some double actions causing hurt feelingsānamely, double deceit. There have been multiple cases of this in the past month, and each time it has ended sadly.
Everyone here is forgiving and loving, so the consequences havenāt been too bad! But weād like to avoid this sort of thing in the future.
This is the basis for our new double guideline. Double Accounts are not allowed to lie about their true identity to another user or Moderator. Doing so will result in the double accountās suspension (inability to log in or post) for a week. If it happens again, the double account will be suspended indefinitely and the main account will be demoted (needs his/her posts to go through moderation) for a week.
This is as much for safety purposes as for anything else, and will also be a good way to make sure everything stays above board with double accounts.
Secret identity doubles are still allowed. And you are allowed to not answer or to give vague answers to those who question your identity. This rule is only concerned about outright lying, i.e. saying you are not someone when in fact you are someone.
We donāt believe in ex post factos! So we wonāt be trying to apply this rule to any past incidents. Just know that this rule exists from now on.
Thank you!
Hanna
