@Iliara_Mustardtop @Ilayne_Merespark Thanks for signing up to volunteer! Iliara is actually the next character coming up, so would one of you like to color in Jacoby and the other Iliara when I finish her outline? Or would you each like to split up Jacoby's frames? It's up to how you two would like to split up the work.
Here are the frames for Jacoby's walk cycle (they are out of order because of how the files were uploaded, sorry!). Due to my software acting difficult, I could only screenshot clean outlines of the animation against a white background instead of a transparent one. If this makes it too difficult to color it in, or if you have any questions, please let me know! Thanks!
Jacoby's Model Sheet:
Unless you prefer otherwise, @Ilayne_Merespark, I’m thinking to do Jacoby’s frames, and you could do Iliara’s. Sound good?
@Jane_Gogglerubble I started, but...I’m not sure if it’s turning out very well. One thought I had is to trace all the black lines on the draw layer so that filling is then easier/more natural looking. What do you think?
@Iliara_Mustardtop Let me see if I can transfer the image to a transparent background. If I can’t, tracing the black lines is fine or I can trace the black lines afterward too.
@Iliara_Mustardtop @Ilayne_Merespark Hey! If either of you want to try splitting some frames with me, I’m open! This looks like something I can actually do to help.
I don’t mind! That’d be great! Just tell me which ones you’re taking. (like, “1, 2, and 3” or something like that)
Would you mind if I only took the last three for now? I want to see if any of my various art programs can do this! Thank you so much!
No problem at all! (I’ve got so many other projects going so I don’t mind a bit )
@Iliara_Mustardtop @Ilayne_Merespark @Hanna_Brassheart Good news! I’ve found a way to post the images with transparent backgrounds. Hang tight, and the new frames will be posted in a little bit!
Sweet! That should make it easier.
@Iliara_Mustardtop @Hanna_Brassheart Okay, so I'm doing Iliara then? What frames are you doing Hanna? You said you'd take the last three, but is that of Jacoby or Iliara?
Yes, once the pics of Iliara are up. I’m doing Jacoby, except for the last three which Hanna is doing.
@Iliara_Mustardtop @Ilayne_Merespark @Hanna_Brassheart Here are the redone frames! I had to manually make the white space transparent, so some areas may not be fully transparent. Feel free to do the best that you can and I can trace over the black lines when I copy and paste these back into the animation. Speaking of which, if you can, please post your finished images in PNG format!
Hopefully, this is a bit better than before, but if it's not, please let me know! Maybe if someone has Photoshop, they might be willing to help out?
@Jane_GogglerubbleI don't want to seem like a nitpicker here, but it would be really nice to have the detail on the cape. I'm planning on talking about it on the role-play writing itself. So if we want to do the animation on that episode it would come out quite nice. It's totally OK if it's something we can't do.
@Jacoby_Elderfun1 The detail on the cape and it’s movement really makes it a project on its own to animate. I have a bit too much going on my side to dedicate time to it, but if you or someone else who is willing would like to take it on, that’s fine with me. You can use the frames that I post as a guide for how the cape is posed for each frame (it changes per scene).
I’ve been working on it, and I’m almost done with the first frame (I’ve worked on the others, too, but they’re not finished yet). I’m not sure...I may need to do some detailed touch-up work in order to remove that white border. What do you think?
Try hitting the fill tool twice on an area instead of just once... that should increase the tolerance and remove the white border. (At lease it does that on YouDoodle)
Hmm, well I’m using Adobe Draw and my options are kinda limited, so I don’t think it does that...thanks though!I actually haven’t even been able to use the fill feature, I’m just coloring it in beenath the outline...
@Iliara_Mustardtop That looks really good so far! I’m sorry about the white border. If you want, you can color across the black lines a bit, and I’ll just retrace them like you suggested so that they’ll look clean in the animation.
Ok, I really should use a different program next time. That took a LONG time! But anyway, I hope this works well:
Um...I don’t know how to make it a png file..I’m on an iPad. If this won’t work I can try and convert it on the computer.
