I would like to learn how to drive a stick shift just so I can have that extra ability and maybe it will help me later, but yeah. they're a little nerve-wracking.
Sticks are fun to drive. Not that I have driven that many, my truck and a jeep but that is it. i think everyone should try driving a stick at least once.
I can drive a stick shift if I must, but I would vastly prefer not to.
My brother has a totally destroyed Saturn Ion with a stick-shift... he usually drives 15 MPH over the limit, so I have bad experience with them...
I have not ventured into the stick realm yet, but I am looking forward to it with anticipation. It looks really fun, albeit difficult at the beginning. I love the idea of how much extra control you get. Automatic shifting just doesn't feel the same.
Extra control, my sainted aunt! Do you have any idea what a stick shift does when it is not in the right gear? It dies, that's what it does. It dies then and there like a frightened opossum. Do you have any idea what this is like when you are sitting at an intersection with a high-strung mother in the passenger seat? I would have to hate someone a great deal to wish learning to drive a stick shift upon them.
Okay, I can't argue with that. Also, hills. Rolling. SCARY. No risk, no reward, though.

I love the extra control. If you are a good stick driver, then using a stick-shift is better for the wellbeing of your vehicle, and also gets you better gas mileage.
Lol. It takes practice for sure, and I respect those who take the time to master it.
Haha, well, yesterday I was learning how to drive stick and I got stuck on a hill and there was this lady behind me, but she was very forgiving. I stalled it like 3 times before I finally got it right. But yeah, it was a lot of fun!
I drive tractors sometimes and this one time I was coming down a fairly steep hill with a full loaded trailer of fire wood and it's a stick and it popped out of gear and started rolling down the hill. i was able to stop it and put it in gear again but farther down the hill it popped again> Very interesting experience.
