Okay guys so I've been thinking. What @Scarlett_Darkhall did really hit me. I think that instead of giving up the Aetherlight, I will add it to my devo. So what will happen is, every day someone will post a Devo. It can be anyone but I WILL ask that you wait to be scheduled in before you do one. The Devos can be about anything just try too keep them inspiring and uplifting.
Here are some guidelines:
1. Keep them about 1-5 paragraphs long.
2. Try to include at least one scripture reference.
3. DON'T use them to try to 'convict' some one else (For example: Person A and Person B are in an argument that I will call: Cows, Pros+Cons A is pro and B is con. And so A chooses to write a devo that explains why God loves cows and anyone who doesn't agree is not truly saved.)
4. As I said before, KEEP THEM UPLIFTING!!
I will continue this list as I see fit.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
I want you to meet my friend, Jackie Pennycog. She has been my friend since the third grade (Yes I think it’s safe to tell you all that I’m not in the third grade). We used to do everything together. We were inseparable. Then something happened. We were at my house chatting over a can of Pringles.
“Don’t you think that Hattie Sprocketcrow is weird?” She asked.
“Uh, I don’t know. Maybe.” I answered, thoughtfully. I didn’t want to get on her bad side and I wanted to be affirming.
“Well, I think she is.” Said Jackie.
Over the next few weeks, Jackie continued to talk like this until it got so bad that she was openly teasing others. What’s more, I went right on agreeing with her. I felt gross because of it.
As I sat reading my bible one night I prayed to God and asked why I was feeling so awful. He asked me,
“If Jackie wasn’t apart of your life, would you be doing things like this?”

“No.”

What I discovered that day was groundbreaking for me. I never would have done or said those things if I had not for Jackie’s influence upon my life.
What would you do in that situation? Would it be right to stop talking to Jackie all together? Maybe. First, I would suggest talking to her about her actions and words. Most people can be convinced that they need to stop doing something when they know that it’s wrong. If she refuses to compromise, then, maybe it would be best to take a ‘friendship break’. But one thing is for certain, NEVER stop talking to God about her.
Questions: What would you do in this situation? Have you ever had a Jackie in your life? Have you ever BEEN a Jackie?
Prayer: Father God, help me to remember to stand for what is good and not let ‘Jackie company’ corrupt my morals. Also, please help me to do the right thing and talk to you about all of my friends so that you can tell me how to relate to them. I love you! Amen.

(This has never actually happened to me. I don’t even know anyone named Jackie or Hattie. No offence to anyone with these names. This is entirely fiction. Hey, I don’t even like Pringles. Gasp from EVERYONE)

Praising God In The Storm (Part One):

We’ve all had days that we wish we could rewrite. No one really needs to say that life isn’t perfect since we are all well aware of this fact. So what do we do? What do you do? When life seems to run down into a valley how do you handle it? Here’s one of my favorite stories that always reminds me what to do during these times in my life:

Reference: 2 Chronicles 20
Location: Judah
Situation: The sons of Moab, Ammon, and some Meunites came to war against Jehoshaphat from Aram. This was reported to Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat became very afraid, sought the Lord, and declared a fast; people came from every city in Judah to seek the Lord, verse 13 says all of Judah including women and infants were gathered together (what I would give to see this happen in the present day!).
Then Jehoshaphat prayed. It’s interesting to note that he began his prayer by praising the Lord as the ruler of all, then spoke of His promises to the children of Israel, and stated his need ending with this verse:
“O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You."”

Then the Spirit of the Lord came down on Jahaziel and He answered in such a cool and powerful way, read verses 14-17. Then all of Judah bowed and worshipped the Lord.
The next morning Jehoshaphat instructed the people to trust in God, and he set those who sang and praised God before the soldiers.
“When they began singing and praising, the LORD set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; so they were routed.”

After they found their enemies taken care of it took them three days to clear the spoil away. On the fourth day they gathered again and blessed to the Lord.

When we praise God through the troubles of this life He takes note. The Lord is always listening to us and with us.

Praising God In The Storm (Part Two):

How do you keep praising God when it all seems hopeless?

I always find inspiration in the Psalms. David went through quite a bit of drama throughout his life: attempted murder by the king, having to act like a lunatic to escape from the Philistine palace, an affair, a rebellion brought by his son, etc. However, amidst all this drama David is commonly known as “The man after God’s heart.”

No matter what happened to David he always knew who to turn to during trouble.
“Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.”

David poured his heart out before the Lord. He sang, he wept, he even shouted and danced before God.
Just about all of his Psalms speak of God’s wonderful works, giving Him the glory and praise due Him.
He never once stopped praising God.

“I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.”

I had the idea, or was blessed with the inspiration, to start a Bible study for those who do not have much time for studying material. I thought to use the songs of Michael Card since they fit an entire sermon into a few short minutes. The album, should you care to jump ahead, is called Ancient Faith. Anyone who wishes to join is welcome.

I've decided to make this a weekly thing, but don't get upset if you missed the first week. You can still post about the first song. This is just another one to continue your haphazard devotional life.

Week 1
This song focuses on the fact that we while in the garden could choose life or disobedience, and how the disobedience can sometimes look better than obedience. However, it also focuses on the fact that Jesus came down and died, following through with the promise "eat not of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for you will surely die" and did so in our place.

Week 2
This song focuses on testing, specifically in the "wilderness" this could be lots of things, the test that Jesus went through, of forty days in the desert, or our own suffering, where we seem to be left to our own devices for a time. Notice though, the moment the forty days were over, angels appeared, showing us that Jesus wasn't actually alone, and that God still did have a hand of protection over him. It's the same with us in our trying times.

There seems to be a lot of wilderness in the Bible. For one, and the first one that came to my mind, was Jesus fasting for 40 days in the desert (Or Wilderness), and you make some good points there. I also thought of Exodus, where the Israelites walked through the wilderness. Another time is when the Israelites weren't allowed into the Promise Land for 40 years. I just realized it's the same number, 40 days of Jesus in the wilderness, 40 years of the Israelites in the wilderness. I've only heard the part of Jesus's 40 days where Satan is tempting him, I'm not sure the reason he was fasting there in the first place, or if it's even mentioned in that story. If not I'd assume it's because he's reminding us, or himself, of those 40 years in the wilderness. This would seem likely, however I'm not sure.

The second song was obviously about the Snake symbol that Moses made during those 40 years (Maybe Joshua, not Moses...), and in my opinion it's far less of a conversation-starter . But it does remind me, a common Medical symbol is two snakes wrapped around a pole. In Greek Mythology, Hermes, the messenger god, is also known to have a similar, or identical symbol. However I think the one in the Bible only has one snake wrapping around it, not sure though.

Yes, there was only one snake. The conversation starter comes in the very last verse.

That's why this song is one of my favorites. So many people worship the imagery of Christianity, a comfortable god made up in their own minds. They either forgot what they had suffered or have never suffered much.
