Hello everyone!
I did some research in the Bible for some of the debates here. I don't remember where the posts are, but anyways! Here's what I found. (reply to this post if you have anything to add or challenge.
)
Genesis 25:29-34 says that Esau sold his birthright to Jacob in exchange for food and drink because he was exhausted.
Genesis 27:36 says that Esau cried out because Jacob "Cheated" him out of his birthright and blessing.
God loves his children.
Job 18, Job 28-29, Job 27:13, Psalm 50:21-23, Psalm 68:2, Ecclesiastes 3:17, Ecclesiastes 8:12-13, Isaiah 57:21, Ezekiel 18:23 all say that God does not take pleasure in seeing the wicked perish by death. He wants them to turn to Him.
Ezekiel 33:11 says that God wants the wicked to turn to him. God does care about the wicked.
Micah 6:9-16 says that God will punish the wicked.
Romans 5:8 says that God shows His love for us through Christ. God wants the wicked to turn to His love and Himself so the wicked can live eternally with Him in Heaven with no pain or suffering.
1 John 4:19 says, "We love because He first loved us."
Jacob is a true believer in God. Jacob wanted the eternal things to come.
Esau was selfish and wanted worldly things that only last for a certain amount of time. Esau was laid to waste (Malachi 1:3), just like the world will be laid to waste when Jesus Christ returns to earth.
God wants the unsaved to turn to Him. He does not like to see them perish.
God does love everyone. That's why he sent His "only, begotten Son" to earth to die for ALL of OUR sins.
Accepting Christ into our lives is a personal choice we have to make ourselves. I was adopted into a Christian family when I was barely 1 years old. I know I thought I was a Christian until I figured out I had to choose God into my heart on my own. I did that when I was 13 years old.
We are all blessings to each other in big or small ways. Even the kids who bully us test our faith and maturity. You don't meet people like that that often.
God says to "love your neighbor as yourself."
"Love your enemies" is mentioned in Leviticus 18, Matthew 19:19, Matthew 22:40, Mark 12:31, Luke 10:27, Romans 13:9, Galatians 5:14, and James 2:8.
Matthew 5:44, Luke 6:35, and Luke 6:27 all say to "Love your neighbor."
I hope this helps y'all! It sure helped me to look it all up on myself.
Print and read over these verses if you need to. Better to have a printed copy of it than not to have it at all and not be able to find it again.
God Bless You All!
