ok music lesson
so we have our body, our soul, and our spirit.
our body is our flesh obviously
our soul is us its our emotions and our thoughts
our spirit is our dimension of human personality whereby relationship with God is possible
ccm is created to touch the soul and evoke emotions in you, and youll think your worshipping God but its not spiritual music. put body and soul together, you may hear a catchy christian song and start bopping your head or dancing, cuz it touched your soul which made your body dance.
spiritual music isnt made to please the listener its made to please God. its real worship music. its more about the words in the song than the beat or melody.
alot of ccm will use shallow repetitive lyrics building up to a climax or winding down to an ending to evoke emotions in you that make you feel good or moody or happy and make you feel like youre worshipping God. the Bible says something about praying not with vain repetitions. prayer is worship and so is song so its the same thing. you dont pray saying the same thing over and over again, so you dont sing like that either.
most good spiritual music is just hymns from our hymnal at church. thats what we should be worshipping God with.
alot of artists will start out with ccm and say theyre christian and later just completely divert to secualr music and thats a sign that they werent really christian. i used to listen to ccm and i liked hollyn but now her music is just secular music but we think its christian music because she used to sing christian music and its not okay
the way i see it, its all or nothin.
youre either listening to good spiritual worship music
or youre listening to the worlds music to entertain yourself
now i mostly listen to whatever because i listen for entertainment but yo i promise just cuz you only listen to ccm doesnt mean youve grown in your spiritual discernment. it probably means youre blind.
