Yeah, I agree. Last Jedi didn't make much sense story wise. Rise of Skywalker had a LOT more potential, but it kinda fell short. I heard from several people that Kathleen Kennedy was the one that changed up J.J. Abrams' and George Lucas' original ideas. I heard a few of them and the movie would have been way better with them. For example, Anakin talks to Ben instead of Han, but I still like the father-son talk moment. Another is where Ben is the one who fights Palpatine on Exegol, who has a double bladed lightsaber as a kind of link to how Star Wars started with a double bladed light saber (Timeline-wise) and then would end with a double bladed light saber. Kennedy took that aspect to make Dark Rey. Then, multiple times, the Skywalkers (Anakin, Luke, and Leia) would assist Ben in his fight with Palpatine, from deflecting force lightning when he was too weak to deflect it (Anakin does this and was said to smirk at Palpatine), to giving him renewed strength to fight Palpatine, and to actually taking Ben's crossguarded lightsaber apart to repair both Rey's yellow and the Skywalker sabers. Eventually, Rey would heal Ben with the Force and Ben would then deflect the lightning back into Palpatine, (which Kennedy also changed for Rey's character to do) defeating him. Then, it was supposed to end with Rey and Ben holding hands while watching the sunrise on Tatooine.
I think that would have been a better ending, even though I am a Rey fan. Plus, that would also appeal to those who think that Ben should have survived because he is a real Skywalker.
I'm sure there are other changed scenes that would have made the movie better, but I don't really know of any others.
