Okay, here's the problem with Solo.
Moreover, it's a problem with Star Wars now, in general. Kathleen Kennedy is doing a sucky job of running Lucasfilm, and it's all a cash-grab now like the rest of Disney.
But here's why Solo sucked.
It started with Episode VII when they couldn't decide between making it a nostalgia punch or something new. Instead, they made a mess of everyone's childhood and alienated new fans. Spoiler-ish issue: Why would you kill off a character and then try to make a trilogy off his backstory?
It's incredibly stupid. You know exactly what's going to happen. Han is practically Luke, and the mystery is part of what made him appealing. Still, the movie itself was decent. Acting was great.
They way they executed everything was about the dumbest possible, though.
Quir'a should've died. For multiple reasons.
Chewie's still gold though, Thank God.
