Um, no, you haven't asked. I have been drawing since I could lift a pencil, and have folders of all sorts of scribbles and designs (that I have now locked away... ). I was first inspired by my cousin who is an amazing artist, and spent my time attempting to mimic her style to the line. I later discovered a style of my own. Sorry, I can't tell you how long I have been drawing. Ya know...

I can’t say that I’ve been drawing all my life, I suppose one of the only reasons I drew a bit as a kid was because for some reason I got it into my head that if I could beat my older sister at something than maybe I was worth something

I colored and shaded the barrel before I added the texture, so the texture wouldn't smudge together when I blended in the shadows later. The texture is a combination of light and dark lines drawn quickly, applied with my knowledge of what wood slats look like milled.

Hmmm... I’ll have to try that...

ask her how she draws wood.

Btw, I like all of my pictures to have hidden meanings, "easter eggs", or a special detail of some kind. In this picture, the time on the clock is 11:02, which is the date for the deadline of the competition I was entering.
