Oooh, I had fun with this... -rubs hands together-
MY PROJECT-OF-THE-WEEK: Fix up wooden chest and use to store art supplies.
The result is steampunk, so I thought someone might want to see it.
Before: A cheap wooden chest I decorated with sequins years ago in a VBS class. (Tore off the sequins a couple months later.)
(Surprise, my name is Rebekah.

)
Painted/sanded: I sanded the glue off and rounded the edges slightly. I used very cheap acrylic paints, so I didn't get a crimson color I was hoping for. It became more of a brown-ish, rose-color which I grew to really like. Then I sealed it with a high-quality, clear-gloss spray. (I wish it was matte, but I didn't have any on hand.)
Underside - grayscale resistance badge (for fun).
Finished: Decorated with random stuff I had (I scavenge and salvage all. Of. The. Time.) I also bought two clocks from a thrift store a while back for 2 or 3 bucks apiece. Really the only purchase I made for this project, and I still have plenty of junk to use later!
(The knob on the left actually turns!

)
(working mini compass on top)
I left the back blank because it saves junk to use for later projects, and the back probably won't be seen much anyway.
I... got a little carried away with the decoration, heheh. But it was fun! I have a ton of other stuff I want to decorate too.
